THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 9/27/2022
The state of America in facts,
numbers
Americans are experiencing a nation now governed by the Washington
“Uni-party.” For D.C.-centric rulers, powerful-beyond-the-Founders’-vision, the
motive is plain: The institutionalized despotism of the progressive Democrat
party; few Republicans align with that corrupt Capitol majority.
While lecturing about “our Democracy,” the legal, judicial, regulatory,
and militarized-and-armed Federal Bureau of Investigation serve one political
master—the Democrat left. Extreme Democrat partisans feed from the fetid bowels
of MSNBC, Media Matters, Michael Moore and other spewers of “eliminationist”
rhetoric (“elimination” of the Republican Party). Progressives don’t see a
problem or a glitch, just an opportunity or tool to aggrandize and secure their
policies and power.
Elections have become the last hurdle, to marginalize and overcome opposition.
In the 2020 electoral “insurrection,” fraud and “irregularities” put the
progressive- (and China-) stooge, Joe Biden, in the White House. Only “voting
integrity” in future elections will prevent a repeat.
For now, consider how close America is to losing protections against that
eventuality: The separation of powers enshrined in the Constitution and its
Bill of Rights, with branches checking each other, with federal powers limited
to those specified in that document, with remaining powers assigned to the
states—and ultimately to the self-rule of citizens.
Discussions and analysis by the Framers—of the ability of the
Constitution to protect future Americans from despotism—are in the Federalist
Papers. Consider the pithy retort of Benjamin Franklin when asked what form of
government had been “constituted”: “A Republic, if you can keep it.” Thanks to
the Framers, powers residing in the states are the last bulwark against federal
totalitarianism.
Let facts and numbers show the reality of a nation immersed in
formidable, almost insurmountable, challenges; polls reveal that Americans are,
by solid majorities (Democracy, right?) rejecting the
Biden/Pelosi/Schumer/Progressive agenda.
While Energy, Gas, and Fuel Oil declined from July to August, they have
risen 14%, 25%, and 69%, from a year ago. All categories rose by double digits
over last year—e.g., Groceries up 23%; Electricity up 16%; Housing, Rent,
Apparel, and Used cars up 6%-8%; Health Insurance up 24%; Airfares up 33%.
Inflation-adjusted earnings (income minus inflation) have been negative
during nearly all of Biden’s presidency; 17 consecutive months, the longest
stretch on record, worse than the global financial crisis (Tyler Durden,
Zerohedge.com). “In total, Joe Biden’s energy policy-driven inflation has added
$961/month to preexisting expenses, or $11,532 a year just to retain the status
quo standard of living” (Nerdwallet analysis of 2020 Consumer Expenditure
Survey data, and Consumer Price Index from the BLS). “Americans have lost
$4,200 in annual income since Joe Biden took office” (Heritage Foundation).
It's undeniable, statistical proof of disastrous economic policies
delivered, not by Donald Trump or Congressional Republicans, but by the elite,
climate-alarmist-deranged Democrat cabal. It combines with real
unemployment—including those dropped out, taking multiple jobs or settling for
part-time work—above 7 percent (Jason Riley).
Add in unprecedented productivity declines from “quiet quitters” and
Millennial/Gen Z-ers “gold bricking” (look it up), doing the bare minimum to
not get fired. There’s an emerging trend of added, undisclosed charges,
“chiseling” consumers of goods and services out of “nickel and dime” fees. That
used to doom a business in the public’s eye, but it’s now “Oh well, what can
you do?”
Corruption and betrayal of America’s national interests and justice: “Joe
Biden was deeply involved with selling U.S. natural gas to the ChiComs, new
docs and whistleblowers reveal,” (Debra Heine, amgreatness.com). “Equal
Justice, They Said,” by Victor Davis Hanson: “What once distinguished the
United States from illiberal regimes—following the Orwellian mantra ‘some are
more equal than others’—was the hallowed American idea of ‘equal justice under
the law.’
“The phrase is engraved above the entrance to the United States Supreme
Court—an ideal that took centuries to achieve… Does it still exist in Joe
Biden’s America? In many ways, no—due both to state and private vendettas as
well as state efforts to destroy rather than merely defeat political opponents.”
“What comes of taking Joe Biden seriously,” (powerlineblog.com) points to
the North Dakota leftist who murdered a teenaged boy he feared was part of a
“Republican extremist group.” Say the name: “Cayler Ellingson,” cut down by a
politically deranged supporter of Joe Biden.
Many will agree that “This is the moment I gave up on Joe Biden,” by
Sasha Stone, a former supporter of the left. She cited the Joe Biden “soul of our
nation” speech bathed in the blood-red light of militant fascism, wherein he
told tens of millions that their very participation in democracy
threatens…democracy. Likewise, “I’m a Democrat who thinks Biden’s
anti-democratic rhetoric has gone too far,” by Scott J. Street.
Trump beats Biden, 48 to 43 percent; Kamala Harris, 49 to 39 percent; Hillary,
49 to 41 percent. 56 percent say Biden is a worse President than Trump; 61
percent say Trump voters are not “Semi-Fascist”; Republicans lead Democrats for
the House, 49 to 44 percent, and in the Senate, 46 to 43 percent (Democracy
Institute).
Left-wing socialists concern more Americans than MAGA hat-wearing Republicans; a majority believe Biden’s speech divided the country (Harvard CAPS-Harris poll). Majorities in every demographic, 56.8 percent overall, think Biden’s speech was a “dangerous escalation in rhetoric.” (Trafalgar Group) “Majority see FBI as Biden’s ‘personal Gestapo’ after Trump raid,” by Paul Bedard, citing Rasmussen Report polling.
“Democrats Reveal How Unhinged They’ve Become with Biden’s Threatening Remarks Towards MAGA, FBI Raid of Trump” by Rachel Alexander. It’s time to choose.
