THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Bluff Daily News 12/06/2022
Misled, deprived, told to like it
Last week’s column had already been sent when the sad news of Editor Chip
Thompson’s passing arrived. Having little personal interaction with Chip, it
behooved this columnist to take the measure of the man vicariously through the
eyes and experiences of others.
What dawned on me was how Chip fit a pattern I’ve observed, and respected,
for much of my 50+ adult years, even in high school: Someone who thrived in
interacting, networking, expanding others’ potential, and thereby becoming,
without actually aspiring to it, a bigger person whose influence was magnified
by other impactful people.
As seen through those sharing on this page, a magnanimous, warm- and
good-hearted person seamlessly becomes a beneficial part of those around him: local
organizations, businesses, and charities. I have not only admired such
qualities in others, but have also felt a shortcoming when realizing that I
could only aspire to such muted greatness, never quite achieving it.
Like the proverbial blind men touching different parts of an elephant but
unable to grasp the whole, the testimonies to a truly good man should inspire
us all to be more than we have been. I extend my deepest condolences to the
Daily News family, who I know have felt a loss perhaps larger than Chip’s
actual family, if only because his presence, support and guidance was a nearly
24/7 part of their lives. Carry on and be better for it.
“Election denial”—the all-purpose epithet used to mindlessly condemn any
Trump-supporting Republican—is now exposed for the hypocrisy it always was,
with the rise of Congressman Hakeem Jeffries to party leadership. After
banshee-like shrieking leveled at anyone 1) doubting that elections of Democrats
are free of fraud and cheating, or 2) questioning White House occupant Joe
Biden’s legitimacy—Mr. Jeffries’ record of repeatedly denying the legitimacy of
Donald Trump’s election in 2016 exposes their ludicrous double standard. Call
it “herd immunity” to election denial; the Dem-friendly media just play along.
In “The Evil of Coerced Medicine,” Aaron Kheriaty draws on his book, “The
New Abnormal: The Rise of the Biomedical Security State,” to expose the twin
tools of medical despotism: propaganda and coercion. It’s worth searching the free
read of his article. We’ve been misled in a manner bordering on the abominable,
while many have been deprived of economic, financial value; educational rights
and advancement; familial affection and nearness to elderly loved ones; and,
not least, the unabridged right to gainful employment, even service to our
country in law enforcement and the military.
Specific, even unquantifiable, losses have been imposed upon an otherwise
Constitutionally free people. “Vaccinated people make up the majority of COVID-19
deaths: CDC data,” by Marina Zhang; “Autopsies show COVID-19 vaccination likely
caused fatal heart inflammation: study,” by Zachary Stieber. Informative reading.
Fauci’s replacement, Dr. Ashish Jha, has already duplicitously assured us
that we could eliminate all COVID deaths if everyone gets “boosters,” while
later admitting that even the newest vaccine efficacy declines by 30 to 50
percent after a few months, depending on one’s age.
Speaking of “Doctor” (treats no patients) Fauci, his current defense is “I’m
a bureaucrat, not a scientist” (John Hinderaker), given Fauci’s deposition in
the First Amendment lawsuit filed by Louisiana and Missouri Attorneys General. Louisiana’s
AG Jeff Landry tweeted: “Wow! It was amazing to spend 7 hours with Dr. Fauci.
The man who single-handedly wrecked the U.S. economy based upon ‘the science.’ Only
to discover that he can’t recall practically anything dealing with his Covid
response!”
The health bureaucrat who serially mislead America for years said, under
oath, that his responsibilities running a “$6 billion agency” didn’t allow him
to pay attention to the Great Barrington Declaration. Signed by thousands of
physicians and scientists, it cited established protocols implemented in
numerous countries to provide targeted protection for vulnerable elderly
populations while allowing normalcy elsewhere. No lockdowns.
While health “authorities” continue trying to sell Americans on endless “booster”
shots, refusing to admit the “emergency” is over, we must not “forgive and
forget” their culpability: “There can be no ‘amnesty’ on lockdowns without a
reckoning,” by Joy Pullman. We’re old with health issues and got the first rollout
and booster for their initial protection against a threatening virus; lethality
has declined, so we’ll rely on our own immunity and natural supplements as we
always have. Make up your own minds.
Space isn’t wasted to describe it as naive for Donald Trump to share
dinner with Mr. West (now “Ye”?). It was a setup given that he knew nothing of
the kook antisemite white supremacist that tagged along. Trump’s instincts and
staff failed him in not keeping such nuts away. Though well read, I never heard
of Mr. Fuentes.
Arguably, the crucible and cauldron of white hot political/governmental
fire that has failed to destroy him, have perhaps made Donald Trump uniquely
suited to deliver America from the sliding-to-fascism progressive takeover of
our federal agencies, DOJ and national security “fourth branch of government.”
Republican wannabes, make your cases for leading that struggle because,
absent that fight, we’re doomed. If baseless, fabricated campaigns of vitriol,
persecution, and illegal prosecution aimed at removing legitimately elected Donald
Trump, and now preventing Americans from even being able to vote for him in
2024—if that’s not the definition of seditious conspiracy, nothing is.
Next, we’ll dig into the bombshell revelations documented by Elon Musk
and journalist Matt Taibbi: A government-political party-Big Tech nexus colluded
in 2020 to suppress information deleterious to Joe Biden’s campaign. Previously
cited polling proved that, had voters been informed of evidence of Biden family
corruption and influence-peddling, he’d have lost. That’s stealing an election.
