Patriotic pride vs. cry-bully lies

Independence Day 2022 seems to discourage and disappoint every political stripe. The vast majority celebrate the declaring of our independence from that day’s military behemoth, England. We know that placed a high marker for the ages, that “Natural Law” and “Rights” derive from “Nature’s God,” and that governments exist primarily to “secure the Blessings of (individual, personal) Liberty…” Many decry pervasive intrusions into Constitutional liberties and freedoms—correctable but still despotic.

Those with the least to complain about are the most verbally and physically outraged. They use the worst spin on every issue to form their outlook; “the end of the world as we know it” hysteria dominates the leftist media-verse, even on this page. Is the glass half-empty or half-full?

Maybe everyone you know—especially the ones who only agree lest you launch a verbal tirade their way—is crestfallen over the Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) abortion decision, making state legislatures consider voter sentiments on killing babies in the womb. You live in a state like California where virtually unlimited abortion-on-demand will remain the law of the land; and yet your hysteria drives you to feel angst and hate over the prospect that a number of “red” states will do otherwise.

Do you know that one of the addictions ending in “-aholic” starts with “rage,” meaning violently yelling and screaming out of all proportion to the actual slight or offense? My “few women” reference to the number of those affected by abortion restrictions derives from the 60 million abortions performed over 50 years in a nation of over 300 million—that’s a million+ per year who would not have died from their pregnancies (heart disease, cancer alone kill 1.3 million Americans per year). Their babies did die; “cry bullies” scream and lie.

Meanwhile, in “normal-ville,” folks find it troubling that money (paychecks, etc.) loses value faster than it can be boosted. Inflation—highest-in-decades and arguably highest in the free world—is the thief-in-the-night raising prices while you sleep. Those dependent on limited budgets shake their heads over a quarter or a dollar increase here, cancelling some other “need” or “want” there.

It’s disturbing when some in the elite world of politics and media tell us that losing economic and financial ground to inflation is: 1) going to be short-lived (like they know); 2) mostly affecting the well-off, like you’re unaffected by spending $50 more to fill your tank and no way to drive less; 3) lower than other countries (says lyin’ Biden) while facts say our 8+ percent is higher than G7 countries;

4) A minor rough spot on the “transition” to “green” (unreliable, sporadic like unicorn farts) energy; 5) an unintended/intended “nudge/shove” to rearrange your entire life around public transit, or saddle yourself with $50-60,000 Electric Vehicle payments;

Or 6) (my favorite Biden gaslighting attempt) American drivers will “pay that premium for this war” for “as long as it takes” for sanctions and not using Russian oil to bring Putin to heel.

“President Biden really thinks Americans are morons who are dumb enough to believe this. Unreal. We should be ramping up domestic energy production and making the United States energy independent again,” Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) wrote.

“It’s not a this or that scenario, Mr. President. Open up federal lands for oil and gas drilling, end your regulatory war on energy and start lowering gas prices for Americans. This is YOUR price hike,” Rep. Andy Barr (R-Ky.) tweeted. “MAKE NO MISTAKE. Gas prices are at historic highs because of Joe Biden’s war on American energy,” Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) wrote following Biden’s remarks. (CAPS in tweets)

Petroleum companies were quick and rightly indignant to throw Biden’s venom back, over his lame attempts to “bully” them into more production. Biden’s actions and policies alone decreased production (Trump’s 13 million barrels/day dropped to 12 million barrels/day under Biden). Lease sales cancelled; refining at capacity.

More Biden reality-defying insanity: “My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril. Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.” Really? Profit margins are pennies per gallon at the pump; oil exploration has halted due to uncertainty, even expectations from Biden’s own words, that the death of oil/gas is planned, desired; Biden’s “deep pocketed” enviro-wacko friends will sue to stop permits.

Regarding abortion, first came the endless lies spouted by its proponents; now, polling says people are wise to the scam, don’t share the pro-abortion spin, and won’t be giving Democrats a thumbs-up in November.

Among the lies: 1) Women who have miscarriages or ectopic pregnancies could be criminalized by abortion restrictions (they won’t); 2) Americans are in favor of abortion throughout pregnancy—the default Democrat position (only 12 percent do, while 57 percent support banning abortion upon detection of a heartbeat);

3) Abortion was ever a “constitutional right,” is “healthcare” or a “freedom” (it’s not mentioned once in the Constitution, it’s not “healthcare” unless the mother’s life or health is jeopardized, it’s “freedom” only to avoid giving birth); 4) Justice Clarence Thomas said that Covid vaccines contain the cells of “aborted children” (he didn’t, but he did reference plaintiffs’ claim that aborted fetus cells were used in the development of the vaccine—big difference);

5) The SCOTUS’ Dobbs decision will benefit Democrats (the Republican generic preference over Democrats actually increased 1 percent in YouGov poll); 6) Any polled majority support for Roe—the misinformation over abortion has so tainted opinions that such polling is misleading and irrelevant.
