Biden-Harris outrageously join the ‘war on democracy’

Whatever President Joe Biden and Veep Kamala Harris are trying to do with their war on democracy, it’s disgraceful.

“War on democracy” is, after all, the going term for baselessly claiming US elections will lack legitimacy (at least, if your side loses).

Harris on Thursday doubled down on Biden’s obscene suggestion that this November’s results may not be legit, simply because Democrats’ bid to nationalize voting laws failed.

“I’m not going to say it’s going to be legit,” the prez said Wednesday of the coming elections. “The increase in the prospect of being illegitimate is in direct proportion to us not being able to get these reforms passed.” Hours later, “these reforms” didn’t pass, so . . .

The next day, NBC’s Savannah Guthrie told Harris it was “astonishing” to hear the prez cast doubt on “free and fair elections.” In reply, the veep insisted: “We as America cannot afford to allow this blatant erosion of our democracy and, in particular, the right of all Americans who are eligible to vote, to have access to the ballot unfettered.”

Republicans in many states have rolled back some of the extremely loose rules that governed the 2020 vote — while still leaving it easier to vote than ever before, with lots of early voting, mail-in ballots and so on.

Biden & Co insist this is Jim Crow 2.0, with the prez Wednesday complaining of “how hard they make it for minorities to vote,” followed by Harris’ “blatant erosion of our democracy.”

Ridiculous: By this standard, Biden never won a legitimate election in all his decades in the Senate, because Delaware made (and still makes) it far tougher to vote than what the prez now says is the only standard for “legitimate.”

Oh, Sen. Chuck Schumer and New York’s entire delegation to Congress aren’t legit, either, since the Empire State has never met the “legitimate” standard.

Happily, most Americans aren’t buying it, any more than they buy similar nonsense from ex-President Donald Trump.

But some are (and more pretend to), with the left-leaning media regularly encouraging them. Once again, the guy who took office vowing to unite us is deepening our divisions — to no real purpose.

Because the bill is not only dead, it never had majority support. Heck, most Americans approve of voter-ID and other ballot-security measures that it would outlaw. And it wouldn’t survive the Supreme Court if it did pass, since it’s blatantly unconstitutional.

For what? Apparently, just to get their excuses (just like Trump!) in early ahead of the midterms where their party is expected to get creamed.

How pathetic: Most of the Democratic Party has joined the last Republican president in claiming US elections lack legitimacy. It’s as if someone drugged most of America’s political class.

What in God’s name do Biden & Harris think they’re doing by telling Trump to hold their beers?
