THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 1/07/2020
Old morphs into, not replaced by, new
There
couldn’t be a better example of something new in the first week of 2020, than
the drone-effected demise last Friday of Iran’s top general, Qasem Soleimani (Q.S.
hereafter), together with a no-name Iraqi leader of Iranian proxy militias. It
really only adds to a long, bloody history with America’s Middle East enemy,
the nation (not “Islamic Republic” in my writing) of Iran. They chant “Death to
America” daily.
Trump’s
critics that dominate the media, entertainment and political elites make much hateful
hay out of what they insist are unprecedented actions in using America’s
military assets to inflict deadly reprisals on Iran’s terrorist militia forces.
It seems that these critics and enemies of Trump have been almost disappointed
that he has responded to Iranian attacks—on shipping and oil facilities in
either international waters or another nation—with restraint applied to loss of
Iranian life. Iran took that for Carter-like weakness and organized militia-led
assaults on America’s embassy compound. Turns out troops can get there fast.
There
has been no shortage of dark humor: Q.S. got to a hot afterlife and found a German
with a funny mustache that won’t shut up, Jeffrey Epstein monopolizing the female
virgins while the remaining virgins are all men, especially suicide bombers
ticked off that this wasn’t what they signed up for; Q.S. was told to go to the
airport to collect another billion dollars and forgot Obama wasn’t in charge
anymore, and wonders what the that approaching rocket sound is;
ISIS
training class with photos of Obama, labeled “J. V.” and Trump, labeled “Varsity”;
a picture of Conan, the Special Forces dog, sitting in the drone pilot’s chair;
Trump as magician saying, “For my next act, I’ll make Democrats defend Iran”; a
picture of sailors on their knees in Iranian custody, labeled “Obama 2016,” and
the burned-out, mangled wreckage of Q.S.’s vehicle, labeled “Donald Trump 2020”;
then, a screen full of MSNBC talkers with the most somber, dour faces captioned
“Pentagon says U.S. strike killed top Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander”;
The
Texas armed church guard: “I saved taxpayers $3.5 million.” One double cartoon
showed “Concealed Carry math” with the church killer firing until his ammo ran
out or cops arrive in 5 to 10 minutes; versus killer firing twice before taking
a bullet to the head. Never forget that the leftist, anti-gun elite gave short
credit to the trained (better than me but I shoot a 7-inch group at 30 feet)
church security guy, only to all say that it’s “alarming” when another 6 or so
congregants subsequently displayed weapons.
The
“Trump deranged” left offers no shortage of disgustingly ironic moments: In
October, a Code Pink delegation of gals traveled to get pictured in
head-to-toes burkas with Imam-worshipping Iranians. A recent quote from a Code Pink
leader happily announced the end to a 10-year hiatus from their signature
narcissistic demonstrations—admitting to having no complaints to 8 years of
drone strikes by Obama.
Hollywood
idiots couldn’t help themselves: Bobby DeNiro waxed scatological over wanting
to rub dog feces in Trump’s face; George Lopez boasted that, regarding the $80
million bounty put on Trump by an Iranian, “We’ll do it for half.” Others
responded—by posting pictures of Trump properties for Iran to blow up—to Trump’s
(brilliant) reference to “52 targets matching the 52 hostages” Iran illegally
seized in 1979, knowing Jimmy Carter was too weak to respond.
I
have thought and believed for decades that if Carter had told our military to
bomb one town or village or city each day until the hostages were released,
they would have been on a plane home in 24 hours, and Carter would have been
reelected. Remember, embassies are literally the soil of the country
represented and were never attacked by the Soviet Union or any other civilized
country until the Iran embassy seizure.
Has-been
quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who infamously wore practice socks with cops as
pigs, shared his wisdom that “there is nothing new about American terrorist
attacks against black and brown people for the advancement of American
imperialism.” Marx, Lenin, Alinsky, Sanders, Warren and “The Squad” agree. Q.S.
wasn’t a true Iranian official—unwritten law has held that countries do not
assassinate each other’s leaders—but an Iranian international terrorist, a
rightful target; it’s irrelevant to the left.
“These
people care so much what others think of them…how the world views them, or how
it views America. They will grovel like a dog for forgiveness before someone
who would slit their throats with a smile on his face. Ayatollah Khamenei is an
animal. Soleimani was an animal…
“These
promulgators of peace at any price have one core belief in common, one that is
the central lie of liberalism and big government. It is this, that you are not
smart enough to figure things out for yourself. That ‘they’ in the faraway
Washington corridors know better. They would have you believe that due to the
idiosyncrasies of foreign affairs and state craft, Donald Trump, much less
average Joe, is incapable of making the right decision.” (Andrew Davis)
Firebrand
conservative Kurt Schlichter, from “Newly-Elected Democrats Let Their Masks
Slip, Revealing the Fascists Beneath,” regarding leftist, Soros-funded local
and state Dems: “There are no ‘moderate’ Democrats. All Democrats are dangerous
to your life, prosperity and freedom. They prefer churchgoers die rather than
be able to defend themselves. They want newly-prosperous frackers to learn to
code. They want you jailed for denying the climate cult or the fact that there
are men and there are women and there is nothing else.
“What’s
the name of the Democrat who is willing to say, ‘I’m glad a half-dozen
parishioners drew on that scumbag and capped his sorry butt. I’m thrilled
millions of middle Americans are supporting their families through American
energy independence. And I’m not going to say that men can menstruate or women
can be fathers?’ None.” Amen.
