Biden West Point Speech: Brain Breaks, Tells Tall Tales, 'Please Clap' Moment, With Embarrassing End
Joe Biden is in Wilmington, Delaware, for yet another vacation. He did, however, take a brief sojourn from the vacation to go to West Point to deliver the commencement address.
Biden previously gave a commencement address that got heavily criticized -- and rightly so -- for being a race-baiting mess.

At West Point, Biden had to take a walk to get to the stage after they announced him. It was concerning to watch how he moved forward in that stilted fashion that he has, with the "Mr. Burns" empty look on his face:
Everything is in slow motion with Joe, and he apparently needs whatever is in the bottle after that long walk.
Other speakers spoke about what leadership meant and duty, honor, and country. What a thought, that you have Biden then speaking to them -- a man who constantly lies and makes up things out of whole cloth. And he went right there, with another huge lie, when he finally spoke to the class. He of course spoke about football. He said that he was given an appointment to the Naval Academy but he claimed he didn't go because Roger Staubach and Joe Bellino were playing there.
Biden has told this lie in the past, with variations. Yet he seems to keep telling it, despite the fact that there is no evidence that he ever got an appointment. Moreover, since Bellino graduated from West Point in 1961, the same year that Joe Biden graduated from high school, Bellino wouldn't have impacted his choice. That's another thing in this telling that just doesn't make any sense. But it's Joe, where nothing makes any sense.
Biden slurred and dropped words throughout the speech. When I say "dropped words," I mean he leaves out articles and words that should be there.
He spoke about the different challenges that the graduates might face in their chosen career. He then started talking about Ukraine and Putin, saying U.S. soldiers were helping train Ukrainians, although he insisted no one was fighting in Ukraine. Then his brain seemed to break right in the middle of talking about meeting with Putin:
He stopped because he couldn't read the teleprompter and had no idea what he was supposed to say next.
He said he met with Putin right after he came in. That probably explains why Putin had no fear about invading Ukraine.
Then Biden completely messed up the point of "we lead by the power of our example, not the example of our power."
"Never forget that America is the strongest when we lead not only by the example of our power but the power of our example," he said. Then no one clapped, and that apparently irked him. "You can clap for that," he groused.
Then came the diplomas. But this was something else. After Biden had been handing out the diplomas for a short while, he was interrupted by one of the West Point officials and moved to the back. You can hear the officer say, "Let's crank it up," and then they had to speed up the process:
Biden looks completely confused. The diplomas went on for quite a while, so Biden likely couldn't do it and it would have taken forever. But that says something about Biden right there, unlike Trump who, for example, shook the hands of every graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 2018. Trump said at that time he was given the choice of giving them out to the top 100 or all of them.
They had to direct Biden back to his seat:
I guess at least we can say Biden didn't trip as he did at the Air Force ceremony.
