THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 8/15/2023
Focus on local, state issues
Those were the instructions from “higher ups.” Transition to local and
state issues; people can find out about Biden and Trump elsewhere but, this
being a local paper, columnists are to change priorities. Owners, publishers
and editors set priorities.
Now, this is not without precedent—around 2009 a similar directive came
about local issues; that was when I started a blog: donpolson.blogspot.com. For
about 14 years I have posted several articles a day on national, state and even
world issues, with analysis and opinion.
Readers of all political stripes may, or may not, find all they need to
know about Trump and Biden on network, cable and in major print newspapers.
Articles printed in the Daily News from the Associated Press, the AP, may or
may not give you the sense that you are getting all you need to know. I have
yet to read an AP news article that is free of misinformation and errors—which
only seem to lean in a Democrat-friendly way. They’re often called
stenographers for “the Party.”
Make up your own mind, the way I see it. But when provable corruption on
one side gets less than 10 minutes of network coverage, while indictments on
the other side get hundreds of minutes of air time—you’re not seeing impartial
news coverage.
If you go to donpolson.blogspot.com, you’ll see no ads, popups, or
auto-start videos. It is not “monetized”; I make no money from it. Links are
provided for every article if you want the full, ad-filled site. However, there
is no censorship, no “cancelling” or throttling of your ability to read
anything. I will post a column on current controversies each Tuesday; election
fraud that delivered up to 800,000 Michigan votes to Biden is examined today.
You may find that if you post something on Facebook, you are chastised.
Let me know if that happens; I’m not a Facebook-er and not subject to their
policies. My wife had the experience of reading something that she passed on
with an “frowny face” emoji and was given an hour-long “time-out.”
That is a tiny example of what was exposed in the Twitter Files where
government entities expected compliance (“why hasn’t that been removed yet,” one
official emailed). Social media is supposed to be like a “common carrier” where
all have access to promote their views, causes or products, and display some ads
and reap monetary benefits. Aside from legally prohibited libel, direct
instigation of violence, or fraud, the “carrier,” or social platform, is not
entitled to favor or disfavor content, or opinion—they must allow Free Speech.
Below you will find the sources and websites I peruse daily so as to be
as fully-informed as possible.
On a local issue: The Red Bluff City Counsil decided to “just say no” to
proclamations after the no-win, angst-filled “Pride month” non-proclamation. I
weighed in twice against “Pride” recognition and feel that the pro-Pride side
is beyond reasoning with due to their hysterical advocacy for all-things-gay.
Tehama Couty voted about 3 to 1 for Prop 8 in favor of traditional, one man/one
woman marriage. Respect that vote, or go elsewhere.
I say “Hell, no” to promoting the gay, lesbian, bisexual lifestyle. I condemn the misguided alliance with the sex-change, child grooming, child mutilation cult using phony medical non-science about suicides that the supposed “trans,” non-treated young person risks.
The fact is that so-called
“gender dysphoria,” feeling that a person was born in the “wrong body”
generally goes away with maturing, or morphs into homosexuality, and is mostly
induced by social and peer suggestion, not valid biological reality. There are
only two sexes, male and female, nothing in between; the “LGB” part of that
acronym know it and quietly resent being lumped into the “trans” cult.
The factor of suicide is much more prevalent in those who are subjected
to chemical, or surgical—and always irreversible—treatments. Perhaps the
psychiatric field will someday analyze the seeming mass psychosis around the sex-change
cult and provide honest reflection based on the many who realize their mistaken
choices.
I’ve known, and respected, numerous gay people who, other than their
unorthodox choice of partners, were fairly unimpeachable citizens, kind and
responsible. I worked for Rococo Catering in Los Angeles which had about half
gay, half non, and had a higher portion of non-gay workers than the catering
business in general. The jokes were not for a family newspaper; the people fun
to be around.
Many won’t say it but I will: Very few are born homosexual, no more than
5 percent. Unwillingness to acknowledge the need to recruit and proselytize to
grow those numbers is leading to a false sense of proportion. Whether teachers,
groomers or recruiters, “leave them kids alone,” as Pink Floyd sang in “Another
Brick in The Wall.”
