  Overstaying welcome, denying entry

Lessons could have been learned from the European migrant experience; lessons learned by many if not most Americans. They’re wasted and ignored by the political and media elite, and those unwilling to think outside of the progressive, “politically correct” box. The similarities with our migrant “invasion” redound to the benefit of normal-thinking Americans with good sense, respect for law and an innate knowledge of what is in our nation’s best economic interests:

1) Have enforced borders—those whose first act of joining another nation is to break the laws governing entry are poor prospects to become good Americans; 2) Refugee and asylum-seeking foreigners cannot be allowed to use the misfortunes, economic hardships and local violence they flee to appeal to good-hearted (but often soft-headed) Americans and leaders;

3) Those who choose to denigrate our great nation’s heritage and self-governing gifts to the world—in favor of masses of under-developed people from relatively undeveloped, backward societies—have no place hurling absurd epithets of racism at we who desire to see that heritage and those gifts preserved and handed to immigrants adhering to America’s standards; and 4) It is not xenophobic or hateful of foreigners and different cultures to insist that those we welcome be chosen from nations and cultures that are compatible with American civic values of tolerance, respect for law and constitutional principles.

This can and should mean that the current overemphasis on countries to the south—and nations that practice denigration and violence towards women, and religious and sexual minorities—should be balanced with Asian, European, African and other regions that already exhibit our values. Most who seek American citizenship, and have labored through the years and expense of naturalization, already overwhelmingly accept those standards. Many so-called “asylum-seeking” refugees and economic migrants do not.

It is international principle that those fleeing intolerable conditions, uprooting themselves and travelling in hardship on foot, have a humanitarian appeal that can be presented to the first—not the second or third—country whose border they cross. The policies implemented, and even inherited, by President Trump do not run afoul of any of this. He is simply, boldly stating and practicing the legal and sensible standards approved by most Americans and sometimes practiced by Barack Obama.

What did happen under Obama—and is apparently the default position of leftist politicians, judges and immigration advocates—is that our borders can only be “virtually” enforced, if at all, and that it is acceptable to encourage illegal entry on the premise that Americans and existing immigrants aren’t filling our employment needs. On top of that, they see these illegal immigrants as 1) a source of political power when Democrat areas get more House seats (why else would they fight so hard to keep a citizenship question off the 2020 census?), 2) a constituent group beholden to the political party that provides the “benefit programs,” which produces 3) perpetual voters for those same politicians.

News reports, while not necessarily prominent, do corroborate what we Trump-supporting Republicans believe and say. MS-13 gang members and hundreds of other criminals (per CBP and DHS) have arrived with the migrants. “We continue to see individuals from countries such as Somalia, India, Haiti, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.” Border Patrol officers have been struck with rocks and other projectiles, which more-than-justifies the use of tear gas, women and children notwithstanding.

The manipulation of the news media (who are happy to oblige) with a photo of a woman towing children supposedly running from tear gas says it all. The Palestinians are famous for this type of photographic propaganda. No clouds of tear gas can be seen; no evidence of tearing and pain from the gas. The background shows several camera-wielding migrants with groups either standing oblivious to the non-existent tear gas or trying to stage their own “look, we’re running from the clouds of gas” moments.

“I have videos from Guatemala that show men dressed in identical clothing, sporting the same haircuts, handing out money to women to persuade them to move to the front of the caravan…and we have images showing many of them preparing Molotov cocktails.” A lying tweet from Trump? No, it’s a quote from Mexican Interior Minister Navarrete Prida.

The Mayor of Tijuana, Juan Manuel Gastelum, is on the record in a Fox News interview saying that “those people who are making problems,” the migrants and their leaders, do not deserve the funding that is providing for—even enabling—a “humanitarian crisis.” He wants the funding stopped and the leaders arrested; he blames them for the loss of “129 million pesos” over the six-hour border closing.

If your news sources haven’t informed you of the above, it’s because, for them, it’s all about bashing Trump, all the time, using every news item to twist another knife into Trump’s presidency and further the left’s grand scheme for America and the world.

“And right now the left is so near that one-world-government, no borders, give peace a chance, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ world they can taste it. Or so they think. Of course, they’re nowhere near it. What they are actually enabling is the plundering of the first world by the third and the destruction of civilization and the engine of creation and production that has lifted most of the world’s population to a level our ancestors would consider unimaginable wealth.” (Sarah Hoyt, “The Lefty Lies About a World Without Borders”)

In other news, the “sky is falling” government climate report was, in fact, drafted before Trump became president and was written by Obama holdovers with the same agenda as above (to twist another knife…left’s grand scheme, etc). Also, apparently lying to Congress is a bad thing now that it’s not Obama’s people doing it. Finally, perhaps Mr. Harrop would change his tune over conservative judges stopping Obama/Democrat policies, especially ones that Obama lied about to begin with.
