THE WAY I SEE IT

The biggest liar, and lie, in our history
The State of Jefferson debate is the topic of
tonight’s Tea Party Patriots meeting, as well as an informational meeting
Wednesday at the Board of Supervisors chambers at 6 PM. Tom Knorr will speak in
favor of the secession movement. I say, let Tehama County residents vote their
choice and so inform our elected leaders. Even joining more populous
majority-Republican counties to the south, our Democrat, urban superiors are
unlikely to ever “let our people go.” Think of that line from the Eagles’ song,
“Hotel California,” about being able to check in but never being able to leave.
It’s the same basic concept with Obamacare: You and
your health insurance plans are legally swept into the One-Size-Fits-All
mandates of Obamacare exchanges, but you can never leave. Freedom of choice is
an anathema to these people. Purchasers of toasters, computers, smart-phones,
automobiles, homes and financial investments have multitudes of options; that’s
of no consequence when our political overlords decide what is best for our own
health care choices.
Obamacare was designed to deprive us of economic
freedoms from the start. Subsequent regulations made it inevitable that the
vast majority of all health insurance plans would be “absorbed into the Borg”
of government-mandated coverage and rates. You may recall advocates using the
phrase “all in” to cheerily advance collective, regimented citizen involvement.
The ruse was that only thus could we right the supposed wrongs of denial of
coverage, the uninsured, the poor and sick. Guess what? Obamacare payment
boards will still deny some coverage, many will pay the fine and remain
uninsured and the poor and sick will still be with us.
Obamacrats problem: polling showed that upwards of 90
percent of people liked their health insurance. Most folks losing their
individual or employer-provided plans probably like the plans they’re losing.
Hence, Obama’s Big Lie that you could keep your plan. Followed by more lies:
you had “substandard” coverage; it’s not the fault of Obamacare that insurers
are dropping policyholders.
When McClatchy News pronounces the obvious (“Analysis:
Tens of millions could be forced out of health insurance they had,” 11/7), the
charade is blown—up to 70 percent of all insurance plans will disappear. Don’t
take my word for it. The high-end estimate, 69 percent, was posted on the
Federal Register in a chart on the low/medium/high estimates of individual/small
employer/large employer insurance plans that would be dropped by insurance
companies in favor of Obamacare exchange-required coverage. Once checked in,
never allowed out.
Some of Obama’s staff argued that Americans needed to
be told the truth but were overruled in favor of the politically necessary
falsehood, repeated ad infinitum, ad nauseam: “If you like your private health
insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period.” A promise mocked in a cartoon
that provided a Clintonesque follow-up statement: “All of you not named
‘Period’ are on your own.” Also revealed (“Top Dem Admits: ‘We Knew’” National
Review, 10/29) is that “House Democratic whip Steny Hoyer conceded to reporters
today that Democrats knew people would not be able to keep their current health
care plans under Obamacare and expressed qualified contrition for President
Obama’s repeated vows to the contrary.” (Vows made for no reason other than to
deceive us into grudging acceptance of Obamacare, and to provide political
cover for Congressional Democrats)
The law intended to force as many people as possible
into Obamacare; regulations written in June, 2010, all but eliminated
“grandfathering” of plans (allowing people to keep what they had). Democrats in
the Senate unanimously voted that September against a Republican bill to codify
what Americans were promised—that they could keep health insurance plans they
liked.
Look up (or find at DonPolson.blogspot.com) “Obama
Lied, My Health Plan Died” by Michelle Malkin and “Obama’s Big Lie” by Jonah
Goldberg at NationalReview.com; “Obama Lies, Health Care Dies” and an entire
series under the heading “Lies of Obamacare, Documented” at Powerlineblog.com;
and also “The Eight Biggest Falsehoods in Obama’s Rose Garden Speech” by David
Hogberg of “The Federalist”. While “bait and switch” deception usually
accompanies any massive government entitlement program—providing “subsidies” to
tens of millions, paid by other taxpayers, is a huge entitlement—Obamacare’s
inception, formulation, political and policy deceptions easily rise to the
level of legal fraud.
The irreverent 76-year old comedian, Jackie Mason, is
quoted in “Famous comic flays Obama as lying ‘maniac’” (‘If he wasn’t the
president, he’d be in jail or in a sanitarium’): “He’s saying things that nobody
believes … He looks at you straight in the face, and tells you that if you want
your plan, you got your plan, you keep your plan. Now, a month-and-a-half
later, you got no plan, you lost your plan, and he tells you you still got a
plan.”
In “God, Lies and Obama” Roger L. Simon proposes, “to
Obama these are not really lies, because he has no values, religious or
otherwise, that make them so. This is more than just the prototypical Marxist
‘ends justifying the means’ … (and may be) an American form of ‘taqiyya’—the
Muslim dictate that it is permissible to lie to non-believers. He believes in
left-wing taqiyya … anti-imperialism augmented by Alinksyite methods (and) he
had the consolation that he was lying for a better good.”
I see his followers, from the White House to the media
to Organizing for America to liberal acolytes across the nation, have adopted
the same ideological rationale for lying.
