THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 12/08/2020
Trump
was robbed…fair and square
Yes, robbed. But let’s
just get the “fair and square” part out of the way. Analysis shows the (well-funded)
“Get Out The Vote” campaign successfully turned out millions of urban and minority
votes for Joe Biden. Hillary Clinton was reportedly miffed that the same effort
wasn’t mounted for her. In reality, few (on her side) gave candidate Donald
Trump credit for his message inspiring millions of disappointed Republicans and
Independents to believe someone would advance their needs. MAGA!
I saw a quip that Hillary
believes if Democrats had cheated for her the way they cheated for
Biden-Harris, she would never have lost Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan by
about 77,700 votes. It’s ironic that Democrat-left partisans accused voting
machine company Diebold of giving President Bush his reelection win with
Minnesota’s and Wisconsin’s 19 Electoral votes (by about 100,000 votes), or PA’s
21 Electoral votes (by about 144,000).
Hillary’s popular vote
margin (about 3 million votes) came from a 5 million vote advantage in CA, OR
and WA. This year’s popular vote majority for Joe Biden, about 7 million, came
almost entirely from, again, CA, OR and WA, the “left coast” (6.3 million more
for Biden). Democrats may not agree with it, but the Electoral College was
designed to prevent heavily populated states from choosing the President, such
that the rest of the nation could skip the whole thing.
Rest assured that if the popular vote majority
went against Democrats in a system where states gave their electoral votes to
the winner of the majority, they would marshal their protesters, lawyers and
congressional members to demand that the Electoral College revert back to the
current system. What hypocrites—their answer to any loss is: Change the rules.
Lose the courts? Create more seats, even for the Supreme Court, filled by
Democrats. Lose on propositions and initiatives? Find left-leaning, “progressive”
judges to apply unique legal theories, as in overturning Props 187 and 8.
Lose population—together
with representation and tax revenues? Demand that people leaving your state
surrender, like extortion, some of their wealth; or tax their income in
perpetuity no matter where they move. Then, out of the other side of their
ideological/taxing mouths: If a Republican federal tax reform denies your state
some of the revenue from the “State and Local Taxes” (SALT) they deduct—meaning
they pay that state less money—make up the revenue by “re-taxing” them.
Losing congressional
seats because of the exodus? Have your lawyers, judges and members of Congress
demand that Democrat-state magnets for illegal aliens be given credit for what they
assert is their rightful-but-unearned bounty of seats in Congress. The Founders
and Framers never meant for Congress to “represent” the interests and demands
of a constituency of non-voters whose citizenship resides in other countries.
NY, CA and Illinois don’t deserve greater power from illegals.
Every one of the swing
states—Nevada, Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia—is immersed
in legal battles by President Trump and those aligned with the causes of voting
integrity and transparency. I and most Trump voters could accept losing at the
polls if there were no fraud or manipulation—say in an election involving verified
legal, alive voters only voting in one state, using paper ballots that could be
recounted and attached to a voter, never going near an internet-connected
counting device.
Canada does that; so do
Israel and other nations. The “purple finger” system of voting in Iraq was
quaint; but no one can vote twice and the custody of paper ballots is not
questioned. “Mail-in” voting, aside from identity-verified absentee systems,
must be banned and “voting day” be restored with a few extra days to accommodate
people’s schedules. Counting must be closely observed by all parties and
recorded by cameras everywhere. You progressives have no right to cancel
opponents’ votes with floods of double-voters, dead voters, machine-copied
ballots and secret double counting practices.
Those “integrity” and “transparency”
measures didn’t happen in the swing states. Non-legislated voting procedures—and
lack of observers kicked out while ballots continue to be “processed”—must
result in votes being cancelled and results reversed. If such counties and
precincts really want to be counted, conduct another election—by the rules of transparency.
On Tuesday, President
Donald Trump and his campaign filed an explosive lawsuit claiming that
Wisconsin officials included 221,323 illegal votes in the presidential election
recount. They’re asking the Wisconsin Supreme Court to order Gov. Tony Evers
(D-Wisc.) to rescind certification of the state’s election results until any
illegal votes can be excluded from the count.
“The people of
Wisconsin deserve election processes with uniform enforcement of the law, plain
and simple. During the recount in Dane and Milwaukee counties, we know with
absolute certainty illegal ballots have unduly influenced the state’s election
results,” Jim Troupis, a Trump campaign lawyer, said in a statement. “Wisconsin
cannot allow the over three million legal ballots to be eroded by even a single
illegal ballot.” (“New Trump Lawsuit Claims Wisconsin Counted 221K Illegal
Votes, ELEVEN TIMES Biden’s Margin,” Tyler O’Neil, Pjmedia.com)
Trump’s not cancelling
valid votes; state officials and courts ignoring laws and constitutions are.
Proving the lockstep Democrat machine, a Democrat Wisconsin Supreme Court refused to even take up Trump’s lawsuit; but Troupis is determined to use the courts to address the seriousness of the threats to assuring that that state’s election was a “free and fair election. The only way to do that is by helping to restore integrity and transparency in our elections.” Troupis cites illegally altered absentee ballot envelopes, counting ballots that had no required application, overlooking unlawful claims of indefinite confinement, and holding illegal voting events called “Democracy in the Park.” More next week.
