THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 9/17/2019
More Black, Hispanic, student support
Did
you know that President Trump met with a rather supportive, visibly upbeat
contingent of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities)
representatives last week? As conservative, Trump-supporting Paris Dennard—an
African-American—wrote in a tweet: “He is saying with a loud voice, ‘I see you,
I hear you, I appreciate you, I value you and I want you all to win!’”
Since
virtually all news events are seen through the lens of Trump’s reelection, this
indication—that a sizable segment of the black electorate has “walked away” from
Democratic, anti-Trump “resistance”—suggests historically unprecedented black
support in the 2020 election. Neutral pollsters, not in the Democrat/media
cabal, have analyzed the impact of a potential 15 to 20+ percent Trump vote among
African-Americans and concluded that the Democratic candidate could not win a
national election. “Swing states” would be tipped irreversibly Republican in
such a scenario.
Likewise, “Donald Trump’s approval among
Hispanic Americans in Texas has increased by 20% since 2016. That means he has
nearly 1 million new Hispanic supporters,” wrote Ronna McDaniel,
@GOPChairwoman, in a tweet last week. That quote came from a piece she wrote
for Univision.com: “The Hispanic community has made historic gains during the
Trump Administration.”
“While
Democrat candidates remain oblivious and out of touch, Americans—especially in
Texas—are taking note of the positive impact that President Trump and Republicans’
pro-growth, pro-business policies are having on American families and
businesses.” Reflecting the rise of traditional values—and economic prosperity—voters
in that demographic, Trump’s message is hitting home. Jobs and job-creators are
the keys to achieving the dream of abundance; securing the border and applying
the rule of law to (illegal) immigration secures rising wages in a growing
economy; and family-and religion-friendly policies support the nobility of work
and a stable, productive nuclear family home life.
“Democrats’ out-of-touch radicalism was on
full display yet again last night in Houston. Despite the debate taking place
in the energy capital of the world, 2020 candidates argued in favor of policies
that would kill energy industry jobs. They did the same thing last month in
Detroit, our country’s automotive and manufacturing hub, where they presented
no plans to help our manufacturing industry. And in Miami, home to countless
victims of socialism, they openly embraced the policies local Hispanic
communities sacrificed so much to flee.”
Just
like rising African-American support for Trump and Republicans, it won’t take even
a doubling of the Hispanic vote to put Democrats out of contention in states
like Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. Both Black and Hispanic unemployment has
reached historic lows; tax cuts have—despite lame attempts to airbrush away the
real impact on tax-paying voters—benefited both groups; Hispanic-owned
businesses are growing rapidly at twice the rate of all businesses since 2012,
accounting for over $700 billion each year. Hispanic women-owned businesses are
the fastest growing segment in the country.
The
toughest, most hostile environment—requiring the most courage in the face of
adversity—faces conservative college students. GOP Badgers (@GOPBadgers),
Turning Point USA (tpusa.com), Young Americans for Freedom (yaf.com) and other Republicans
are ostracized, vandalized, abused, marginalized, subjected to onerous and
unconstitutional free speech restrictions; they’re thriving nonetheless.
Ironically,
in an environment that enforces the leftist status quo, the naturally
rebellious leanings of America’s youth are inducing students, resentful of
being told what to think, to inquire and think for themselves—often concluding
on their own that the elite’s ideology “has no (truthful) clothes.”
I
want to remind and direct readers to President Trump’s twitter page. Don’t pay
attention to news media filters, partisan detractors and spinners, or even conservative
voices and talk-show-callers echoing the line: “If Trump would just tone down
and cut back on his tweeting.” The next time you are at a keyboard or pad, type
in “@realDonaldTrump”, bookmark it/add to favorites and take a few minutes each
day to review his posted tweets.
You’ll
quickly see for yourself why Trump has 64.3 million “followers,” almost 1.5
million more than voted for him in 2016. That doesn’t include this and many
other supporters who cannot “follow” his tweets because we have no social media
accounts. He had about 53 million “followers” when I first began reading his
every tweet. You will also get wise to why he was and is brilliant in providing
a way for any citizen and voter to compare @realDonaldTrump to the news media, and
other Democrat partisan hack, caricatures of President Trump.
Bad
news for media “Democrats-with-bylines”: “Poll: Public backs criticism of
journalists, Trump’s attacks ‘appropriate’” by Paul Bedard. “In the latest sign
that major American media outlets are losing the public’s support, a majority
believe it is appropriate for politicians to criticize reporters and hold them
to the same scrutiny as those they cover.” The “majority” was over 3 to 1: 61% of
voters who think reporters deserve scrutiny, while only 19% disagree. This
wouldn’t happen if “news journalists” had stuck to straight-up reporting, as
opposed to opinion, analysis and propaganda.
In
“DNC Red Alert: ‘People generally are feeling Trump is beating us on all fronts
right now,’” John Sexton summarized a Daily Beast story describing “the mood among
some Democrats who are becoming concerned about the party’s ability to compete
for swing voters in the general election.” They’re off the left cliff, folks,
and nobody they know thinks any differently.
The
New York Times broke an incredible story about then-college freshman Bret
Kavanaugh exposing himself at a party. In “The New York Times Anti-Kavanaugh
Bombshell Is Actually a Dud,” by John McCormack, we read that—much like
accusers from the political ooze that smeared Kavanaugh at his Supreme Court
hearing—she doesn’t even remember the incident cited by former Hillary lawyer,
Max Stier. The Times and the networks left out what you just read—proving why
they are held in low regard.
