Remember after 9/11 when Democrats were tagged as "soft on terror"? Well, no more. Today Democrats are warriors. In fact, they're just a little balmy about the whole terror thing.
Anything Republicans can do can be classified as "terror" these days by the Democrats. And when they're not accusing the GOP of being terrorists, they accuse them of being Nazis.
If you listen to Democrats long enough, you'd be nuts to vote for a Republican. This is especially true when they talk about immigration. Ripping kids from their mother's breasts and separating them. Putting children in cages with nothing to eat. No showers for people who may not even know what a "shower" is.
And of course, the Gestapo...er, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducts campaigns of "terror."
Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris thinks so.
"This administration has directed DHS to conduct these raids as part of what I believe is this administration's campaign of terror," she said Sunday on NBC News' "Meet the Press." "To make whole populations of people afraid to go to work."Children are afraid to go to school for fear that when they come home, their parents won’t be there," Harris continued.
Democrats sure are making up for being soft on terror a few years ago, aren't they? Now, like paranoid left wing nuts, they see terror plots everywhere -- including from government agencies enforcing the law. We better check to make sure ICE hasn't been infested with al-Qaeda members or something.
To refer to federal law enforcement agents of conducting a "campaign of terror" is not a gross exaggeration. It's a smear. It's beyond reason to suggest that the federal government enforcing its own laws is doing something illegal or even immoral.
It's also neither illegal or immoral to make an attempt to deter people from entering the country illegally by deporting them -- after due process. That children are involved in this enforcement action is unfortunate. But to make that argument, you must also argue that other parents accused of other crimes should not be separated from their kids.
For some reason, Democrats believe that out of about 190 countries in the world, the U.S. is the only nation who should be denied control over its own borders. We should be the only nation that offers unfettered immigration to anyone who wants in. To do any less is immoral because, well, it just is.
Americans are not paying attention to the presidential race yet. But perhaps they should start. When we have a presidential candidate from one party who says she thinks enforcing the laws -- laws she will take an oath to uphold -- is akin to a "terror campaign," maybe they should think about voting for someone else.
