Hillary’s mind-numbed sycophants
The guest speaker for the Tea Party Patriots tonight
will be Bill Goodwin, Chief Administrator for Tehama County, at the Westside
Grange, 6 PM.
Hillary Clinton’s testimony at the Benghazi hearing
last Thursday provided, for the observant analyst, a veritable cornucopia of
misdirection, insufficient answers and disingenuous self-serving irrelevancies;
then you had statements that, but for the lawyerly weaving of fact with
fiction, would have been perjury-level lying. I relied on network coverage,
post-testimony reports and opinion pieces from several sources.
Here are a few insightful articles (online readers can
simply copy the titles and paste them into search boxes): “What Hillary Knew,”
“The Clinton’s Greatest Political Gift: Persuading Millions of Americans to
Defend the Indefensible,” “The Benghazi Hearings Confirm Yet Again What a
Brazen Liar Hillary Is,” and “Hillary’s Breathtaking Mendacity,” all at
NationalReview.com; “Some Rout” and others at Powerlineblog.com; “No, Hillary
Clinton Did Not ‘Triumph’ at the Benghazi Hearing,” by Debra Heine, and
“Hillary Clinton’s public vs. private Benghazi facts,” by Sharyl Attkisson.
Navy SEAL Glen Doherty lost his life fighting for his life,
his fellow SEALs lives, and the lives of civilian State Department employees
abandoned by the phony Obama/Clinton “low profile/al Qaeda-on-the-run”
narrative. While it’s not language I would use, the father of Glen had harsh
words for Hillary. “She’s a scumbag, in my opinion,” said Ben Doherty in an
interview with NECN. “Well, I think that she pulled all the troops out of the
embassy, he had no backup. He burnt alive…She said it’s no big deal, it’s a big
deal to me, he’s my son and I loved him.”
Equally as astonishing was the shamelessly glowing
reportorial treatment given by the broadcast news sources. I shared my
expectation with a friend that there would be thinly veiled Hillary-centric
coverage with a generous dose of “Republicans looking mean while discovering
nothing new.” Sure enough, NBC Nightly News showed a montage of Hillary’s
expressions of boredom, disdain, raised-eyebrow disbelief, and eye-rolling or
dagger-shooting, which I’m sure were well rehearsed for just that effect.
Committee Democrats feigned outrage to create a“food fight” for the cameras.
The media groupthink
mantra was “Nothing new here—move along—these are not the falsehoods you are
looking for.” The subtle message to viewers was, “What a waste of money and
time for the soon-to-be-crowned empress and champion of Obama-ism/Clinton-ism
and progressivism.” The AP’s Daily News article, “Facing inquiry, Clinton seeks to
close book on Benghazi,” said as much: “Hillary Clinton strove to close the
book on the worst episode of her tenure…battling Republican questions…but
revealing little new about the 2012 attacks in Benghazi.”
Folks, if President Bush and Condoleezza Rice had been
found saying the complete opposite in private from what they said in public,
there would have been massive cries of outrage and indignation from the
media/Democrat complex, hounding their spokespersons mercilessly. Reporters
even twisted factual and truthful statements. Well, Hillary's email bombshell exposed
such duplicity on the cause of the Benghazi attacks. For public consumption,
from the mouths of Hillary, Susan Rice and Obama, to the grieving families, on
Sunday talk shows and at the United Nations: endlessly, nauseatingly
repeated—and made-up—lies about an anti-Islam video.
To Hillary’s daughter, Libya’s president and the
Egyptian prime minister, she dismissed the video explanation completely: “We
know the attack had nothing to do with the film. It was a planned attack, not a
protest…the group that claimed responsibility for this was affiliated with
al-Qaeda.” The larger, and possibly more outrageous, point is that Obama was
weeks away from a reelection; the voters were assured that “al Qaeda was on the
run” in a shining Libyan example of diplomatic and military “leading from
behind.”
Nothing new from the hearing? It used to be a “News
Flash!” and “Hold the presses!” moment when the highest officials in the land
were caught deceiving the public—I guess that’s only if they have an “R” next
to their names. Then, put the now-revealed 600 requests for greater security at
the Benghazi mission together with actual attacks and prior breaches of its
perimeter.
It all encompassed an increasingly violent period
during which other nations abandoned their facilities. What you have is an
abominable disregard for the lives and security of Americans, serving their
nation on foreign soil, for the crass purpose of maintaining a disreputable
illusion long enough to get past the 2012 election. And Hillary Clinton assumes
the mind-numbed allegiance of her party—and the in-kind political contributions
and interference by news media lackeys and sycophants—to keep the
low-information voters hating Republicans long enough to get past the 2016
election.
From David French: “To read the coverage of yesterday’s
Benghazi hearing was to understand that Americans can inhabit entirely separate
political planets. For conservatives, the two main takeaways from the hearing
were scandalous indeed…While yesterday’s hearing didn’t change the essential
storyline of Benghazi, it did make the details worse. But don’t tell the
inhabitants of that other planet, Planet Liberal…In plain English: The hearing
was a ‘bust’ because Hillary rationalized away her abject failures and multiple
lies with poise and panache.”
