Top Dem: Voter ID Helped Killer Cop Whack Walter Scott
by DEROY MURDOCK April 13, 2015 4:00 PM Photo IDs create a “climate” that leads to vigilantism and murder — so says James Clyburn. Did you know that voter-ID cards caused last week’s police-involved shooting of an unarmed black man? This incredible revelation comes courtesy of the No. 3 Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives, Representative James Clyburn of South Carolina.
Responding to the five bullets that North Charleston police officer Michael Slager fatally fired into the back of a black man named Walter Scott, Clyburn blamed this bloody mess on none other than the conservative American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and its work for ballot integrity. U.S. House Assistant Minority Leader James Clyburn (D., S.C.)
As Clyburn explained to Hardball host Chris Matthews, thanks to “ALEX [sic] . . . a climate has been created in the country that’s causing these things to occur all over.” Clyburn continued:
They have drawn up these legislations [sic], pieces of legislation like stand your ground, that legislation gives a license for people to be vigilantes. They are the ones that are drawing up all of these, uh, so-called voter-ID laws. They are the ones that have been drawing up these unfair redistricting plans. These people are a cancer eating at the inners [sic] of our society.
So, photo-ID requirements are not just disenfranchising blacks who, supposedly, are incapable of possessing or even requesting them before they visit the polls. Now, voter ID is responsible for gunning down a black man. More may die yet.
Man, are those white-racist Republicans clever!
Indeed, the Caucasian bigots who control the GOP employed an elaborate smoke screen to make these black-killing voter-ID cards look unremarkable. It was called the March 28 Nigerian national election.
Just days before Clyburn uncovered this elaborate, subtle, and deadly technology, Nigerians went to the polls — from Lagos and Port Harcourt on the west coast to the northeast territories currently being raped by the brutal Islamic extremists of Boko Haram.
When Nigerians went to their precincts, they had to show photo-ID cards, such as this one: (photos of ID cards at link)
Surely, the Republican National Committee got this black-run African nation to demand photo ID of its black voters to provide cover for the bullet-inducing, anti-black voter-ID cards that ALEX . . . err . . . ALEC deployed so it could suppress black ballots and resurrect lily-white rule in the old Jim Crow South.
But these brilliant Republicans went even further.
In order to disguise their handiwork in Nigeria, they also made voters in Ghana present ID cards at the polls, such as this one: (photos of ID cards at link)
And, just in case Al Sharpton and MSNBC deciphered all of this, scheming righties also bamboozled officials in Kenya to require citizens to show photo ID before registering to vote. This is especially impressive, since Kenya is all the way on the east coast of the Dark Continent.
Interestingly enough, the Obama Administration spent at least $53 million in federal taxpayer money to aid the development of Kenya’s democratic institutions. According to a June 27, 2013, White House fact sheet, this included the “My ID My Life” campaign, which “helped 500,000 youth obtain National identification cards, a prerequisite to voter registration.” Evidently, Obama has been shanghaied into this vast right-wing conspiracy. So, when you put this all together, the Republican Party and ALEC successfully have manipulated at least three black-run governments, on both sides of Africa, to implement policies that, well, whitewash their efforts to deny black South Carolinians of their votes and even kill at least one of them.
Mystery solved!
Thank God that Sherlock Clyburn is busy unraveling these intricate right-wing shenanigans.
For his next case, Congressman Clyburn should figure out how these crafty Republicans and their henchmen at ALEC clandestinely slipped this pro-voter-ID T-shirt onto the late, great South African leader Nelson Mandela.(photos of ID cards at link)
