Via NRO: "The Tax on High-End Insurance Policies" [Ramesh Ponnuru]
"Kevin Hassett points out that 87 percent of the revenue it raises "would come from individuals with incomes of less than $200,000." To be precise, that's from a Joint Tax Committee estimate of an earlier version of the bill, but there is no reason to think that the changes made since then should "change the basic thrust of the story."
So the kabuki deception goes on: Obama says "My bill" but he didn't write any of them (plural) so it is, or it isn't, his proposed tax hike on "individuals with incomes of less than $200,000" that we are apparently not supposed to criticize because it is only proposed, and not proposed by him. Hmmm, so is he or is he not in favor of taxes on the sub$250,000 income group. We don't know because no one in the news media will ask Obama because he isn't taking questions anyway.
