Charlie Daniels Was Right, the Devil Is Here
Way back in 1979 country music legend Charlie Daniels and his Charlie Daniels Band released their ‘Million Mile Reflections’ album which included the song ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’. The album did very well selling three million copies, and the ‘Devil Went Down to Georgia’ reached No. 3 on the pop music Billboard Hot 100 list, and also peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Country Singles Chart, eventually becoming a ‘Gold’ record. In 1989 the song also went ‘Platinum’, selling one million copies. It remained a fan favorite at concerts performed by Daniels and his band over the decades ever since until Daniels himself passed away in 2020 at the age of 83. It’s still popular on country music radio stations and can be heard regularly to this day.
While Charlie Daniels was a great entertainer, little did we know back in 1979 when his album was released that this one hit song would be reflective of where America is at this point in our nation’s history. In fact, the Devil didn’t just come down to Georgia as Daniels sang, nowadays the Devil has spread his evil message around to all corners of the world. Just take a look around.
On October 7, 2023 evil was unleashed on the Jewish people of the nation of Israel. Hamas committed atrocities seldom, if ever seen in human history. Evil that is beyond description. Since that day instead of supporting Israel’s efforts to bring justice to those Palestinians who participated in or who cheered on and supported what was done to Jewish people on October 7th, rallies and protests have sprung up, and continue unabated in support of the very people who were behind the evil that was committed. Support for the victims of such horrendous atrocities and depredations, and for the Nation of Israel and the Jewish people who are determined to do what’s necessary to prevent evil from being done to them ever again is muted, if not nonexistent. Our own government seems to have abandoned “God’s chosen people” for nothing more than political considerations. Matters of honor and principle no longer guide our elected leaders in Washington, or around the world. Instead they are clearly influenced by none other than the Devil himself.
Russia invaded Ukraine and has also committed terrible atrocities against the Ukrainian people, and as was done by the Palestinians in Israel, Russia has used rape and sexual assault of women and children as a weapon of war. Communist China is also threatening to impose Marxist ideology and all of the evil that includes onto the free island nation of Taiwan. Yes, the Devil is certainly hard at work in all corners of the globe.
Godless communism once relegated to “the ash heap of history”, as so eloquently predicted by former President Ronald Reagan, is once again on the rise, and right here in our own country. A “fundamental transformation “ is underway, and America’s future as a constitutional republic no longer is assured. The blood, sweat, and tears of millions of Americans who have served, fought, and died to protect our freedoms may one day all be for naught, as the American Marxist Party - the Democrats - seem hell-bent on destroying their political rivals “by any means necessary”. They are true believers in the ideology that “the ends justify the means”. It has become their rallying cry. Clearly the Devil has come down to Washington, D.C., and to many municipalities and state houses around our once great nation.
Traditional morality and family values have been under attack for decades now. What was once considered wrong is now considered right, and what was right is now wrong, and common decency be damned. What is viewed by many as decadence and deviancy has risen to a level not seen since the biblical days of Sodom and Gomorrah. Anyone who professes traditional religious beliefs and convictions that are contrary to what is now being celebrated is attacked and denounced unmercifully.
Nowadays in America people are pretty much free to practice whatever sexual proclivity they wish, but anyone who just simply refuses to celebrate their choice, and follows more traditional values and roles is called a bigot and a ‘phobe’. An all out assault against traditional religious beliefs has always been part of the Devil’s playbook.
So yes, Charlie Daniels was clearly onto something back in 1979 when through his music he pointed out the evil threat that we faced. A threat not just to our own personal souls, but to our soul as a nation.
We better stop fiddling around and take it seriously. The Devil is indeed hard at work, and he has come down to America. He can be found in the White House, the United States Capitol building, the Pentagon, in fact inside all of our institutions, and everywhere else where Americans have sold their souls for pleasure, political power, or personal gain.
This November we have a chance to cast the Devil and his bevy of demons out once and for all. We better do it for America, and without American leadership the entire world will be facing very dark days ahead indeed.
