Beyond Donald Trump's remarkable Election Day political comeback, two of the Democrat Party's biggest fears were realized last Tuesday.

For starters, it was confirmed once and for all that minority voters in this country were not, in fact, a monolith, and shared some of the same concerns about the future of America that conservatives did on issues like "woke," gender identity politics, illegal immigration, and the economy.

Relatedly, they were also reminded that even longtime Democrat voters who weren't part of any of the coveted voting blocs yet who had never strayed off course had their limits when it came to what they would put up with.

Though that was pretty obvious judging by the exit polls and election results, which saw Trump win all seven swing states, the gang at "60 Minutes" - known for doing their level best to manipulate interviews and quotes to suit their left-wing agenda - decided to talk to Democrat voters in Pennsylvania who voted for Trump to find out why.

Among them was Roz Werkheiser, manager of the Nazareth Diner and a normally reliable Democrat who grew up in a family full of Democrats.

When journalist Scott Pelley tried to gaslight her over the economy, she wasn't having it:

Roz Werkheiser: The prices have went up, obviously because the food cost. And for a family of, like, four people, five people, I have them come in and say, "Oh my God, I spent $100 with the tip for breakfast? That's crazy." Which it is.

[...]

Scott Pelley: Inflation is down by more than half, interest rates are falling, mortgage rates are falling, wages are going up. Are you not feeling that?

Roz Werkheiser: I don't feel it. No, I don't feel it. I don't feel it at all. Everybody I talk to, nobody's wages went up. But we had four years of this. I mean, four years. Gas was super high. Yes, it just went down now, but what-- the past four-- three and a half years it was up.

Watch:

Another one, barbershop owner Ronald Corales, told Pelley that the reason he and some of the Latino employees in his barbershops changed their vote to Trump for the first time was the economy:

Ronald Corales: The economy. The economy. I've been talking over the past couple of years to, like, people at one point, they were, like, so against him because of the comments or whatever the media was saying. But-- you know, a lotta-- lot-- a lotta the Latinos are working-class people. They have families. You know, they help their families, even outside the country as well.

In his narration, Pelley also noted that "Corales' late father immigrated from Peru in 1985 and was so thrilled to be in America he named his son for the president" and that the younger Corales has found some "common ground" with Trump, including on issues like immigration.

Watch:

The best kind of voter is the one who does their homework and looks beyond the media spin to learn more about who the candidates for public office really are and where they stand on the issues. The more this happens, the more Democrats are going to be scrambling to dial back cray-cray elements in their party who, as you may have noticed, are not going to go quietly into the night.

I love it. Instead of being able to continually take advantage of their core voting blocs when it comes time to vote, those same groups are now turning against the Democrat Party thanks to the awakening brought about in part by the 2024 election cycle and by Trump himself. Democrats are not used to being in the position of having to compete for votes from these groups, so watching them turn into pretzels as they try to win them back over is sure gonna be fun to watch.
