Does truth mean anything anymore? Facts? Actual points of evidence that say precisely what something is?
Is there zero responsibility by those who have platforms, readers, viewers, listeners to represent what they discuss as true?
I only ask because, and I’m not sure many have noticed, but as the left continues to reel from its loss in the presidential race, and as they continue to try to steal the U. S. Senate seat in Pennsylvania, they are also getting very loose with their tongues.
Last week a former congressman, turned failed Presidential candidate, turned failed talk show host, turned failed campaigner for Harris/Waltz asserted publicly that a cabinet pick of the incoming President is a Russian agent. I responded to the assertion and tagged multiple lawyers.
A week later and Debbie Wsserman Shultz is making the same statement to news media directly.

Laura Ingraham this week played a clip of a leftist actually making up imaginary claims about a newly named cabinet member and she responded at clip’s end, “It’s just pure libel at this point.”
And I agree.
The women who can’t define themselves on The View, completely misrepresented the career of the nominee for the Secretary of Defense. Pete Hegseth who contrary to the View’s opinion, is not merely a TV host, and is not someone who served “somewhere mid level in the military.” He is a decorated and still active member of the U.S. Army.
There have been openly speculative and likely dishonest claims made publicly against the overwhelming majority of President Trump’s cabinet.
Republicans have also gotten into it. Mike Pence going after Robert Kennedy Jr. without providing evidence of his claims, and former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (who I personally like and very greatly appreciated his leadership in the U.S. House) made claims about Trump’s nominee for Attorney General that law enforcementinvestigations appear to say the exact opposite of.
John Stewart nightly gaslighting on his show and making what appear to be openly false claims about elected officials, their campaigns, and their voters.
The press even went along with the Harris campaign’s repeated use of the factually dishonest claim that President Trump has ever said there were “good people” among heinous white supremacists.
And speaking of White Supremacy, multiple media personalities ascribed membership of that ideology to Pete Hegseth. And that rumor got started because he has the Jerusalem Cross—a long time symbol of Christianity—tattooed on his chest.
They’ve said knowingly false things about Stefanik, Zeldin, Huckabee, Gabbard and Rubio.
Which is par for the course because the legacy press got a big fat “F” for the election coverage as it pertained to telling the truth.
I agree with Ingraham, it’s libel, it’s slander, it is designed to misrepresent and distort the facts.
And this from people who claimed that republicans wanted to end democracy all while democrats ran a person who had never received a single primary vote. They nullified the votes of 14,000,000 of their own voters, and are now engaged and publicly flaunting the fact that they are counting illegal ballots in an attempt to get to keep a U.S. Senate seat.
These dishonest and untrustworthy clowns believe they can claim that aliens landed and have possessed the bodies of Donald Trump and JD Vance and apparently nothing would happen.
But what if it did?
What if some very enthusiastic law firms started filing lawsuits against them for the reputational ruining they are attempting.
What if the next time they just make something up out of whole cloth they suddenly got slammed with multiple million dollar suits coming for them?
President Trump is doing that with people that have said knowingly dishonest things about him and have wronged his family and reputation.
The big lesson of 2024 is that the people have the right to disagree with the information presented to them. The gaslighting commercials didn’t work. The blatant lies promoted and propagated through media were worthless in impact.
Maybe it’s time to render their lies about our new public servants—freshly minted with a mandate like few have had—dead and punishable to teach those who spread them a lesson about speaking truth.
I wonder what would happen…
