Why Would We Ever Unify With Those People?
I don’t want to, and I’m not proud of it, but I so despise what Democrats are and what they want to do that I wish them all sorts of ill. I’ve felt this way for a long time, and the long that time is, the more comfortable I get with the feeling. Still not proud of it – not going to update my resume to include this contempt, for example – but it is what it is, and it’s all earned, so ultimately, I can’t really bring myself to care.
The contempt, I feel, is what it is. It’s also earned. Watching the Sunday shows where Jonathan Karl barks at JD Vance about everything he’s ever said and the panel includes 2 Democrats and a never-Trump “Republican,” I wonder to myself what I’d think if a meteor crashed into the studio.
Not much, it turns out.
Sometimes, I watch the game of politics and think there is absolutely no way we will ever unify as a country again. Then I remembered 9/11 and how, not that long ago in the grand scheme of time, we did unite as a nation…for a few days, anyway. While the left ruined that unity with their uncontrollable urge to blame the United States for everything bad – running with the equivalent of the “If she didn’t want to be raped, she shouldn’t have worn such a short skirt” defense when insisting we brought on the attack ourselves with our Middle Eastern policy – we did have a few good days there.
But short of something horrible no one wants, I don’t know what else could bring us back together.

I watch the Olympics, and I’m sick of it. I feel very little kinship with the athletes I’ve seen. Simone Biles has been around seemingly forever, and she’s great at what she does; I just don’t care. She probably should’ve allowed someone younger to have the opportunity she got when she was young, but instead stuck around to get more glory for herself. Then she went political, because she just had to. Wildly ignorant and stupid, at that point I was out for good.
Maybe it’s because NBC carried the Olympics, or maybe it’s because I just want to watch that often, but I saw nothing about any athlete that instilled a sense of patriotism. There was a lot of basketball because we sent pros (which we shouldn’t do), but I find Lebron James to be a racist, so why would I ever root for that?
There’s really nothing the left can’t ruin. They believe everything is their exclusive domain.
After the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump, several pro baseball players raised their fists in celebration, sometimes adding “fight” as they did it, and the media went wild. So much so, players celebrating that way were forced to pretend they weren’t really doing what everyone knew they were doing – that’s how the left works, they force you to denounce anything they don’t like or they will destroy you.
Why would I unify with that?
I can’t help but laugh when I hear Democrats talk about unifying the country. Whether it’s Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, they all say they want to “Bring the country together.” They spend all their time calling anyone who isn’t with them the new Hitler; who the hell would want to unify with Hitler? Honestly, only a Nazi would.
And while we do know the policies of the modern Democratic Party are very similar to the policies of the National Socialist German Workers Party (they weren’t making a joke by adding “socialist” in their name, they were leftist socialists), they are constantly accusing everyone else of being what they are.
Unlike them, I have no interest in unifying with Nazis.
I wish them ill, I hope they fail. I hope they are exiled politically and devastated to the point that they are ashamed to show their faces in polite society ever again.
Rush Limbaugh used to say that, while he wanted to wipe Democrats out of the halls of power, he wanted to keep a few around to show people that they were real, that people really believed in these insane, destructive ideas. I used to agree, I don’t anymore. Destroy them all, people can learn about their evil in books and museums, we don’t need any in government. We’ll still have tenured professors trying to make more of them, but the electoral destruction of the progressive left will arm those students with the ability to ask the question that the left simply cannot answer: How and Why?
As for “unity”? No thanks, I’m gonna pass.
