Gaslighting media only dig Democrats deeper
The candidates may change, but the media never do: responding to a night of Republican victories with the typical bigotry, slander and lies.
CNN’s Brianna Keilar said Glenn Youngkin won Virginia because of “dog-whistle racism.”
MSNBC’s Joy Reid, a truly contemptible human being, said Youngkin was “a soft white racist” because he isn’t a Democrat.
Nicolle Wallace, also of MSNBC (of course), went truly overboard. “I think that the real ominous thing,” she said, “is that critical race theory, which isn’t real, turned the suburbs 15 points to the Trump-insurrection-endorsed Republican.”
Which isn’t real.
If you want a reason why Democrats were so rebuked Tuesday night, and risk annihilation in 2022, this is it. Because not only are liberals trying to fundamentally upend America from the White House to school boards, they’re gaslighting us about it.
Multitrillion-dollar bills cost zero dollars. Defunding the police will make us safer. No one’s teaching critical race theory.
After George Floyd’s death, a moral panic set in across the nation’s school districts. More and more adopted curriculum from The New York Times’ 1619 Project, which recast our nation’s origin story from 1776 to the year the first slaves arrived in North America. They hired trainers to have teachers confront their “white privilege.”
Writer Christopher F. Rufo uncovered the lesson plans for Buffalo: “In kindergarten, teachers ask students to compare their skin color with an arrangement of crayons and watch a video that dramatizes dead black children speaking to them from beyond the grave about the dangers of being killed by ‘racist police and state-sanctioned violence.’”
In Springfield, Mo., he found, teachers were trained that “education funding from property tax, colorblindness, calling the police on black people, BIPOC as Halloween costumes, not believing experiences of BIPOC, tone policing, [and] white silence are ‘socially acceptable’ forms of white supremacy.”
San Diego educators got lectured: “Whiteness reproduces poverty, failing schools, high unemployment, school closings, and trauma for people of color.”
Proponents like to say that they’re “teaching real history” and if you object, you’re racist. But think about their true objective. Instead of examining a country founded on ideals that we have struggled to live up to — through Civil War and civil rights — to build something greater, children are taught that America is an irredeemably racist enterprise.
When proponents claim that the War of Independence was fought over slavery (it wasn’t), that modern police departments were founded as slave patrols (they weren’t) and capitalism is inherently racist (it isn’t), they want to prime a younger generation to tear the whole thing down for a supposed Marxist utopia. That’s not teaching, that’s political indoctrination.
Parents know exactly what’s happening. Voters aren’t “soft white racists” or responding to dog whistles because they object, and they’re sick of the media saying so. They’re tired of journalists like Reid, Keilar and Wallace inciting racial divisions for ratings, smug in their elitism.
Which isn’t real. Keep on lying. See how real the things get at the ballot box.
