Don's Tuesday Column

THE WAY I SEE IT   by Don Polson  Red Bluff Daily News   11/23/2021

COVID data; violence gets violence

Scroll down for brief analysis of Kyle Rittenhouse’s innocent, righteous self-defense shootings; and the despicable, underhanded prosecution he unjustly endured. I’m partisan; and I’m right.

Regarding the Wuhan, or CCP (Chinese Communist Party) Flu: The impression, from news and government sources (a redundancy), is that there’s only one narrative—eyebrows and suspicions should rise.

Our citizenry accedes to masking and “vaccine passports” for economic and social niceties, even necessities; a dull dread spreads upon seeing reimposed “lockdowns” (Austria) and police-beaten protesters (Australia), as well as interference in parental rights over their children wearing masks and getting poked. This for a 5-17 age group with a negligible risk of illness or death; children sickened have, much like their parents and grandparents, identifiable underlying conditions. Healthy people, absent symptoms, need no restrictions.

The credibility of medical and government authorities has been destroyed, and not by vociferous column-writers. Widespread skepticism requires a shared common-sense reaction; add an abundance of actions and words from said authorities that, while seemingly reasonable at the start of the pandemic, are doubtful, even laughable as facts and conditions change.

It’s indisputable that COVID-recovered people have far higher immunity than the vaccinated—who are still susceptible to infection, but less to hospitalization than the unvaccinated. Yet Fauci and the CDC insult our intelligence and their own veracity by ignoring those facts. They could earn back respect by simply advising—not ordering as if we’re serfs and vassals under despotism—that proof of recovery suffices as exemption from shots.

It's beyond debate that “Little evidence supports use of cloth masks to limit spread of Coronavirus,” Zachary Strieber, theepochtimes.com. “A trio of researchers pored over the studies often cited by the officials and found they were poorly designed and offered scant evidence supporting mask usage.

“Of 16 randomized controlled trials comparing mask effectiveness to controls with no masks, 14 failed to find a statistically significant benefit, the researchers said. And of 16 quantitative meta-analyses, half showed weak evidence of mask effectiveness while the others ‘were equivocal or critical as to whether evidence supports a public recommendation of masks,’ they added.

“‘The biggest takeaway is that more than 100 years of attempts to prove that masks are beneficial has produced a large volume of mostly low-quality evidence that has generally failed to demonstrate their value in most settings,’ Dr. Jonathan Darrow, an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, told The Epoch Times in an email.”

No public figures or medical authorities wear masks constantly; yet they harangue and mandate us to wear masks in public—or even in the privacy of our homes or outdoors (where zero infections occurred. Dr. Fauci, partying, took pains to have a mask on when photos could capture it, removing it when the photo-op passes. Tell us, and show us, that we’re free from the “face diapers.”

I won’t wear a mask outside of medical offices; I have COPD, a pulmonary (breathing) disease, disorder, and a disability cited as an “exemption to masking” under the Americans with Disabilities Act. That section of the ADA website is linked to by any masking policy website, as in Oregon. Yet, I’ve been told to leave the REI, Gear Fix and Grocery Outlet stores in Bend, Oregon, and an Ace Hardware in Waldport. I politely explained the ADA language but the loudmouths sent to kick me out had “zero tolerance” for “non-compliers.”

I could sue and make a lot of money, but I need my time and emotional equanimity more than money. Don’t quibble with me unless you’ve gasped for breath after shopping with a mask restricting your breathing. Shields are silly, doing nothing.

“The World’s Most Vaccinated Country Cancels Christmas Due to Massive Rise in COVID-19 Infections” (express.co.uk/news/uk…, theconservativetreehouse.com 11/17) cites Gibraltar and its 2.79 vaccinations-per-person. Alex Berenson: “Vaccinated English adults under 60 are dying at twice the rate of unvaccinated people the same age; And have been for six months…This chart may seem unbelievable or impossible, but it's correct, based on weekly data from the British government.” Seriously, I’m not thrilled that the same vaccines we took, and were told would return us to normalcy, offer only limited protection.

Minnesota health officials “compare cumulative hospital admission and death rates in vaccinated and unvaccinated in that state” (see “How much good do the vaccines do?” by J. Hinderaker, powerlineblog.com). For those under 50, the death and hospitalization rates aren’t much different; however, the over-50, especially the elderly, rates are far better for the vaccinated. UK and Israeli data show similar differences (or similarities) over the efficacy of vaccines.

“FDA says it needs until year 2076 to reveal data pertaining to Pfizer vaccine approval” (dailycaller.com, 11/18) strongly suggests that, if they can only promise to release 500 pages (out of 329,000) per month—they’ve got things to hide.

Putting the Kyle Rittenhouse “not guilty” verdict in perspective, the pattern is clear: Nick Sandman, George Zimmerman, the Duke lacrosse team, Richard Jewell, the six white men falsely accused in the Tawana Brawley rape hoax, and even Bernhardt Goetz were demonized by media/political mobs and falsely prosecuted.

Bill de Blasio, Gavin Newsome, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and news reporters and talkers on network, cable, NPR and foreign press—shamelessly lied that Rittenhouse violated gun laws as a “vigilante” killing black people or “peaceful protesters.” And lied that he did anything other than righteously defend himself from murderous, scum criminals.

Donald Trump told the truth in August, 2020, clear from the videos: Rittenhouse “was trying to get away from them…fell, and then they violently attacked him.” Violence begets violence.
