Don's Tuesday Column

          THE WAY I SEE IT   by Don Polson   Red Bluff Daily News   5/18/2021

     Dems dodge, deflect, deceive, destroy

You could add “distract” to the SOP (standard operating procedures) employed to accumulate, aggrandize and maintain their grip on power; their single-minded pursuit of control. Control the lives of Americans, control the information available to voters, control the economy to the micro-level of small businesses whenever an “emergency” provides opportunity, however specious.

Of paramount importance are news media narrative-builders, cultural and social media powers, and political power-holders—proclaiming and enforcing uniformity of thought and speech in alignment with leftist/progressive (shhh, don’t say “Marxist”) ideology. “Dodge” pointed, inconvenient questions, “deflect” from clearly failed and failing policies, “deceive” the voters with complicit news media story-telling and, finally, “destroy” opponents personally, financially, politically and legally.

“The emperor has no clothes” fable remains in effect. His Fraudulency Joe Biden, The Incapacitated Deceiver, is reported in the New York Times to be prone to foul-mouthed, angry outbursts, unable or unwilling to make decisions, for weeks or longer, on even urgent and pressing issues. Donald Trump, the legitimately elected president in 2016, correctly called out Biden’s worse-than-Jimmy Carter performance: President Carter badly mismanaged problems and crises he inherited; Joe Biden creates his own problems and crises. See “Yes, Joe Biden Is Worse Than Jimmy Carter; Trump Explains Why” (pjmedia.com)

Let’s start with the University of Michigan’s Consumer Survey that found consumer confidence slipped in May to 82.8, down from 88.3 in April. “Unexpectedly” was the go-to descriptor throughout news reports, followed by “surprisingly.”

That reflected apparent shock among economic/business reporters that the collective wisdom of American consumers would judge Biden’s economy negatively; the collective “wisdom” of the news and political elites was that, with “Orange-man-bad” gone, hope was now restored.

Meanwhile, the Consumer Price Index is up 4.2 percent (year over year); used car prices jumped 10 percent, pushing the “core” CPI up an annualized 11 percent, the most significant jump since 2008. That followed on a jobs report which was the biggest miss in decades—about a million expected new jobs didn’t happen. A million were anticipated; barely one quarter (266,000) were created while prior months’ jobs were reduced by at least 140,000. News writers had to discard pre-written pieces extolling Biden’s remarkable “million job” month.

Pronouncing the Carter-era malaise of “stag-flation” (stagnant economy with inflation) may be premature. Gas shortages, lines and limits for gas stations may be a blip but Biden’s unequivocal anti-drilling, anti-pipeline policies are not without consequence or responsibility.

“Biden’s Energy Secretary Makes Stunning Admission” (M. Margolis, 5/12): Jennifer Granholm admits that pipelines are safer than tanker trucks, rail cars and “supertankers.” One of Biden’s geniuses actually chided us that “if you drive an electric car, the gas shortage wouldn’t affect you,” as if the EVs run on pixie dust and unicorn farts.

Again, dodge, deflect, deceive. 7 million job openings only fetched a quarter-million takers; pandemic jobless benefits make it financially better to not work for less than $32,000 a year (B of A’s J. Song). Slow Joe et al, like Alice’s Queen, believes the impossible several times before breakfast: “not much evidence” jobless benefits discourage taking a job. Bad luck for Biden? Or just the predictable results of failed liberal/left policies?

Point the finger wherever convenient to your knee-jerk defense of Biden, but we’re faced with 1) many schools still closed (due to irrefutable weight-throwing by teachers’ unions); 2) Sky high national debt that Dems see as a challenge to top; 3) Wide open borders with ten times the illegal crossers of a year ago (Trump=17,000; Biden=178,000+)—including an 800% increase in fentanyl interceptions (Gov. Abbot);

4) Middle East on fire (Biden: It would be acceptable for Hamas to just fire fewer missiles at Israel); 5) Iran flexing its muscles (more money, now!); and 6) Russia laughing at us.

For Middle East peace, you need to: “Keep Tehran’s mullahs short on pocket money so they can’t afford too many hijinks; encourage domestic energy production; and make sure everyone knows that we’ve got Israel’s back” (S. Green, pjmedia.com). Trump did those things, he had peace; Biden didn’t, now he’s got war.

Good riddance to child-of-the-beltway, Liz Cheney. Such irrelevant, Trump-hating RINOs were collectively a boil on the rump of the Tea Party-now-Trumpian, MAGA, America First Party of 74+ million patriotic, freedom-loving, proud flag-waving Americans.

I wrote 10 columns on the illegalities, irregularities and fraud discovered and discoverable from the 2020 election. The really big lie is that there wasn’t sufficient fraud to warrant forensic investigation. The Democrat/media cabal can no more prove that the results were honest and fair—than I can prove they weren’t. However, for people so sure of their results, they sure fight like hell to obstruct audits and intimidate naysayers.

I’ll accept Biden’s legitimately non-stolen election at whatever point in his term that corresponds to when Democrats like Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden et al, fully accepted that Donald J. Trump didn’t “steal” the 2016 race, and was the legitimate President. Meaning never.

Re: Wolves, elk and dead birds. “Informing the ‘Misinformed’ About Wolves,” Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 8/25/2017, confirms what I wrote, that elk declined from 20,000 in the mid-1990’s to less than 4,000, primarily from wolves. While they’ve since increased several thousand, human decisions alone placed wolves back in Yellowstone, and they’ve deprived hunters of game and surrounding ranchers of their stock. All predicted in the 1990s. Historical “tall weeds” on the subject don’t refute those facts.

That Fluffy and Snowball eat millions of birds is irrelevant to the raptors and other high-flyers that get shredded by wind turbines or fried by solar thermal arrays. Zero birds die from nuclear, hydro, natural gas, coal and oil power.
