AP doesn’t know the difference between ‘government’ and ‘big government’

AP doesn’t know the difference between ‘government’ and ‘big government’ Washington Examiner By: David Freddoso

Suddenly, the Associated Press sounds as obtuse as some of the smirking liberal columnists who apparently thought the Tea Party was not a “limited government” movement but a “no government” movement:

All along the Gulf Coast, where the tea party thrives and “socialism” is a common description for any government program, conservatives who usually denounce federal activism suddenly are clamoring for it.

Uh, gee, perhaps what they’re clamoring for is for government to start performing one of its legitimate roles, instead of the myriad of illegitimate ones in which it routinely meddles?

The federal government, after all, controls and even leases those waters. There’s no other owner around to make a cleanup happen.

Is it worth getting upset over the fact that Uncle Sam and President Obama seem too busy trying to micro-manage what sort of toilet and crib you can use in your own home, and to make your renovations more costly with new lead paint regulations, instead of performing legitimate federal government roles? You bet it is.
