THE WAY I SEE IT by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News 12/21/2021
Ignore,
resist; don’t comply or enforce
Merry Christmas to all
of you; the birth of Jesus Christ remains the most significant event in
mankind’s history, together with His resurrection and ascension, providing
those who choose the path of faith with hope of salvation. And Happy 71st
Birthday to me.
We Californians get a
state-wide “mask mandate.” It’s predicated on the much-hyped “47 percent
increase in COVID cases.” What’s “the rest of the story”? The “47 percent” figure
spread in America’s news, California being the nation’s elephant.
We’re to deny ourselves
the luxury of not rebreathing our own exhalations, while potentially running
afoul of businesses that fear fines and busybodies. What if infections had actually
declined? That is, in fact, the case: Daily new cases (current wave, 7-day
moving average, worldometers.info/coronavirus/usa/california) peaked on Sept. 1
at 14,437. Over 3 months, the “daily new cases” declined to 4,250—a 70 percent
drop.
So, where’s the 47
percent spike come from? “Where’s the beef?” you ask. Daily new cases then rose
to 6,769 on December 8, or a nearly 60 percent increase, but still—pay
attention—a decline of 53 percent from the Sept. 1 peak. Statistics are used
and misused to sell mask mandates or other impositions on otherwise free
citizens. We can’t be trusted to know the truth?
As of Dec. 19, that
“Daily new cases” average has dropped to 5,899, down 13 percent from the Dec. 8
figure. Our local and chain businesses are unlikely to make demands of their
customers. That’s a wise move given the fatigue over governmental, media and
COVID-ocracy obsession with 1) cases (inflated by overly sensitive PCR testing);
2) hospital space (which is routinely filled to 90+ percent capacity for
efficiency); and 3) ignoring any cause for not panicking.
Out of curiosity, I
watched NBC Nightly News on Saturday. The anxiety-inducing narrative was
shocking; it’s obvious they’re keeping viewers addicted to fear-mongering over
a flu, little more than a cold at this point, for which (typically) older
people and those in ill health suffer and die the most. We’re vaxxed and
boosted; I encourage it; fully vaccinated still get it.
The CDC admitted that
about 6 percent of the deaths are caused by COVID-19 alone—the other 94 percent
had Coronavirus among the co-morbidities. How dire is California’s situation? The
current wave of average daily deaths peaked at 132 on Sept. 15, declining to 56
as of Dec. 19, a 57 percent reduction. In a state with 700-800 daily deaths
from all causes.
Most importantly, we’ve witnessed the
corrupting politicization—with thinly-veiled ulterior motives supporting
governmental power—of science and medicine. They’ve been an reliable source for
objective data, provable theses and “best practices” for our citizens’ and
nation’s health. No longer.
How else to describe
Dr. (treats-no-patients) Anthony Fauci’s bold assertions, echoed by sycophants,
that “I am the science”? Questioning or criticizing him is “dangerous.”
“We have come to
fetishize science in our culture…imbuing it with religious significance…Our
culture has come to view science as revelatory. That sounds remarkably like a
priest that has come to confuse himself with the church, or even God” (“The
Covid Reformation,” by John Schroeder).
Glenn Reynolds,
NYPost.com: “But science, and rationality in general, is about changing your
opinions when you learn new facts. And what we’ve learned is that COVID is
somewhat worse than the flu but not nearly bad enough to justify the enormous,
expensive and disruptive changes we’ve endured.
“In fact, the damages
wrought by lockdowns and social isolation—medical, in terms of reduced
exercise, missed medical screenings and increased drug and alcohol consumption,
as well as psychological, in loneliness and anxiety—may have been worse than
those wrought by COVID itself.
“Also, most of the
nostrums offered by the experts and ‘Karens’ are nonsensical and don’t work.
Masks outdoors, where COVID doesn’t really spread anyway? Plexiglas screens
everywhere? Shut-down public water fountains and a wide variety of service
changes in hotels, restaurants and airplanes [over] COVID?”
Titles alone paint an
unnerving picture: “Biden’s ‘Covid-19 Winter Plan’ Ignores Science—It is based
on pseudoscientific myths about how the virus works and who is vulnerable"
(David Catron)."Party of 'Science' Ignores Four Hundred Published Studies”
(Victorygirlsblog.com).
"Ex-FDA officials,
medical experts flog feds for politicizing COVID, misrepresenting evidence—If
the last administration did this, all experts would be outraged," U.C.S.F.
medical professor Vinay Prasad. "Something Shifting? Washington Post
Admits Biden Administration Is Not Following the Science or Medical Community
Advice Regarding Booster Mandates" and “New York State Assembly Advancing
Legislation to Create Involuntary COVID Quarantine Camps” (both at

“Omicron Unleashes New
Wave of Hysteria, With Rule by Decree in Force” by Michael Walsh; “CDC: Most
reported U.S. Omicron cases have hit the fully vaccinated” by Mrinalika Roy; “Poll:
Overwhelming majority of Americans oppose new mandates and restrictions to
combat Omicron—Americans are moving away from the mandate-mentality of some
politicians and health officials,” (Justthenews.com). Joe Biden lying:
“unvaccinated are looking at a winter of severe illness and death.”
Other serious issues:
1) The fraudulent, illegitimate way Joe Biden got elected (I devoted 10 columns
of evidence to it); election-rigging practices remain a high priority for
Democrats. The “For the People Act,” (actually, “to heck with the people act”)
institutionalizes mail-in voting shenanigans.
2) The ongoing January
6 commission (“kangaroo court and show trial”) allows Democrats to coordinate
with the FBI/DOJ to criminalize their political enemies. 3) Blatant morphing of
biased, slanted journalism into partisan, propagandistic advocacy by the “4th
Estate,” on behalf of racial division, political oppression and programming the
masses.
