We first saw Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams refuse to concede and, as of 24 hours ago, Abrams takes a cue from the Hillary Clinton playbook by claiming she felt there was “deliberate interference” in Georgia’s election. From two days ago:
Because if at first you don’t concede, blame “deliberate interference”. Abrams has called victor, Republican, Brian Kemp, Georgia’s “legal” governor but still, in typical sore-loser fashion, refused to acknowledge him as the legitimate winner.
“….It began eight years ago with the systematic disenfranchisement of more than a million voters. It continued with the underfunding and disinvestment in polling places, in training and in the management of the county delivery of services. And I think it had its pinnacle in this race.
So yes, there was a deliberate and intentional disinvestment and, I think, destruction of the administration of elections in the state of Georgia.”-Stacey Abrams
Are we tired of finger-pointing just yet? Better still, is the left tired of this modus operandi?
And because of all of this injustice and “illegitimacy”, Hollywood rallied and called for a “boycott” of the state:
Because Alyssa knows so much about economics. Did she ever think for a skinny minute that perhaps film production companies set up shop in Georgia because production costs are reasonably lower than in blue states like California? And, why is that, exactly? Right. We’re asking for common sense and reasoning from an individual who is in desperate need to be relevant and has the intellect of…?
I’ll refrain from saying what I want to say about Milano. Sorry, Alyssa. This just isn’t about you. This was “her” turn (Stacey Abrams, that is).
Could this be why Abrams lost?
Abrams raised $12.5 million between 2013 and 2016 for two non-profit, tax-exempt foundations she created: Third Sector Development and the Voter Access Institute, public records show. Third Sector ran a voter-registration drive called the New Georgia Project that focused on people of color. Voter Access reached out to what it called “low-propensity” voters, trying to persuade them to cast their ballots.
Or maybe it was this after admitting she owed $50,000 in deferred tax payments:
“But despite earning nearly six figures, my financial situation was fraught. I had racked up student loans, and throughout college and beyond, I’d swiftly turned every credit card application into those magical slivers of plastic that allowed me to pay for daily necessities. I finished my higher education deeply in debt and with seven years of bad credit in my future. Using my law firm salary, I started to pay down my credit cards and make student loan payments.”-Stacey Abrams
Did you catch that? She turned credit card applications into “magical slivers of plastic”. Now, I will be the first to say that I was not the most financially responsible individual in my younger years as a college student and well into my early twenties. I was once brainwashed by the college liberal machine and because it felt good, I went to Europe on plastic. The difference? I did not make six figures a year when I finally became gainfully employed. I wasn’t even making nearly six figures. It took me 10 years of working my face off, and at times, two to three jobs to be debt-free and it altered my political philosophies in the process. Call me judgmental, but I would have hoped someone with a degree from Yale would be able to possess enough common sense that “magical slivers of plastic” should never be used for day-to-day necessities.
At least Abrams is not encouraging the #boycottgeorgia movement spawned by elitist Democrats. We’ll give her that. But as she so gracefully asks those to not punish the people of the state of Georgia because they have to put food on the table and take care of their houses, she, like most women of the Democrat persuasion, cannot lose elegantly. Why is this? Because, in Abrams’ mind and in the minds of her supporters, it was “her turn”. Where, oh, where have we heard that one before?! And why, oh, why do they think this still is a valid reason for pointing fingers and just being a bad sport? Instead of embracing responsibility and cleaning up one’s own house, in Abrams’ case, that would be answering for the half-a-million dollars paid to her from her “unnamed” sources and why her $50,000 in back-taxes went unpaid, Abrams and her supporters will continue to pull the race card and alternate it with the gender card all while citing “deliberate interference” as the reasons for her loss. It was not her financial follies and illustrated incompetence with regard to these that lost her the gubernatorial nod. Nope. It was race. It was sexism. It was rigged by “deliberate interference”.
So you see, it was NOT her fault. It was her turn. Life. Is. So. Unfair.
Yep. You win some, you lose some, you whine a bit and then you take your little nappy-nap. It’s all good; we won’t deliberately interfere with that, Stacey.
