FORMER OFFICIAL: OBAMA ADMINISTRATION MISLED ON CLIMATE CHANGE
We have written about the corruption of climate science over and over again. Tragically, the agencies that are responsible for maintaining surface temperature records are staffed by zealots who put ideology ahead of science. Agency after agency around the world has been caught “adjusting” temperature records to fit the alarmists’ theories. They do this by lowering past temperature records and raising recent ones.
Today the Daily Caller reveals a different but related type of climate dishonesty:
A former member of the Obama administration claims Washington D.C. often uses “misleading” news releases about climate data to influence public opinion.Former Energy Department Undersecretary Steven Koonin told The Wall Street Journal Monday that bureaucrats within former President Barack Obama’s administration spun scientific data to manipulate public opinion.“What you saw coming out of the press releases about climate data, climate analysis, was, I’d say, misleading, sometimes just wrong,” Koonin said, referring to elements within the Obama administration he said were responsible for manipulating climate data.
Koonin puts much of the blame on Obama administration press officers:
Press officers work with scientists within agencies like the National Oceanic Administration (NOAA) and NASA and are responsible for crafting misleading press releases on climate, he added.

Koonin, who served under Obama from 2009 to 2011, went on to lament the politicization of science suggested that the ethos should be to “tell it like it is. You’re a scientist and it is your responsibility to put the facts on the table.”
But that is what agencies like NOAA, in the hands of ideologues, are unwilling to do.
The Daily Caller also notes that in a separate, unrelated investigation, the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology is pressing NOAA to hand over documents relating to an allegedly fraudulent study that was produced by that agency. The House committee’s subpoena was served in 2015, but NOAA apparently is still stonewalling.
