Kerry Calls for Green Energy Subsidies

Kerry Calls for Green Energy Subsidies
By Michael Reagan
When John Kerry was confirmed as secretary of state after seemingly endless years of empty posturing and camera chasing in the Senate, optimistic conservatives thought, “Well, what’s the worst that can happen?”
Now we know.

CNS News covered a Kerry speech before the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center where he elbowed his way into the drum circle to promote the fight against the currently AWOL “global warming” or “climate change,” depending on how current you are with scare buzzwords.
Ignoring the science that proves there has been no warming, global or otherwise, for the past 16 years, Kerry was in full watermelon mode (green on the outside, red on the inside) when he called for the audience to demand even more subsidies for expensive, unworkable “green” energy.
Green, by the way, is one of the few accurate adjectives the left uses. They think it means the energy is ecologically sound, but we know the “green” symbolizes the hundreds of millions of dollars in tax subsidies, loans, and higher prices for consumers that this uneconomic boondoggle requires to exist.
Kerry asked his audience, “If we're wrong about this future, what's the worst that could happen to us for making these choices?” Other than the intrusive government market meddling that picks losers instead of winners? Or does he mean the money taxpayers will never see again?
Of course not in the alternate universe inhabited by Kerry and the rest of the warmies these real-world effects have never happened.
Instead, Kerry fantasizes and explains, “The worst that could happen to us is we create a whole lot of new jobs, we kick our economies into gear, we have healthier people, healthier children because we have cleaner air, we live up to our environmental responsibility, we become truly energy independent, and our security is stronger and greater and sustainable as a result. That's the worst that happens to us."
This is like calling Ebola a jobs creator because of the demand it produces for graves.
As Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., observed, “What Secretary Kerry didn't tell his audience at the wind technology center yesterday, is that we are already on the path to being forced to suffer the consequences of the Obama administration's man-made climate agenda.
"The Obama administration's environmental policies will completely stall our economy, reduce electricity reliability while increasing costs, and eliminate millions of American jobs."
Man’s effect on the climate has yet to be proven, but after six years of the Obama administration we know for a fact he produces economic disruption, and with two years remaining in his final term, we may not have seen the worst that can happen yet.
