Voters Trust Republicans on Economy

Voters Trust Republicans on Economy

by John Hinderaker in 2012 election, Economy, Poll

The latest “voters trust” survey by Rasmussen Reports shows that likely voters continue to trust Republicans more than Democrats on key issues. To some degree, the political stories of recent months–all spun the Democrats’ way for the benefit of those who don’t pay enough attention to know better–has brought the Democrats back into the game on the issues where they are traditionally strong, although even there, their edge is narrow. There isn’t enough time between now and November for the Democrats to change voters’ perceptions that the Dems are weak on the economy, national security and immigration, and want to raise their taxes. If the Republicans stick to these issues–considering the national debt to be part of the economy issue–2012 will be a big year for the GOP.
