Happy Wednesday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. Cantiva was known all about town for her solo rides on a tandem bike and transcendent Jell-O molds.

I may be a couple of thousand miles away from home at the moment, but the festering hot mess at the U.S./Mexico border is never far from my mind. In fact, I’ve been asked about it once or twice on this trip.

Whenever we discuss the Biden administration’s monumental nightmare at the border it’s important to remember that they immediately got the mess in motion. President LOLEightyonemillion signed executive orders ending the construction of the border wall and strengthening Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) on his first afternoon in office. Biden’s handlers couldn’t wait to begin undoing President Trump’s efforts to secure the border.

It’s truly stunning how quickly Biden was able to make the situation at the border worse than it’s ever been. Many have theorized that was the plan. Democrats have been known to deliberately create problems that they then hope to be able to take credit for fixing. It’s a flawed strategy that rarely works out, but bless their hearts, they keep trying.

Of course, Team Biden has yet to meet a problem it couldn’t make exponentially worse, and the border crisis remains Exhibit A in support of that claim.

Catherine wrote a post yesterday that has some sobering numbers in it regarding the border:

Here’s a fact the Biden administration would sure like to bury — 7,000 illegal aliens are reportedly entering the U.S. on a daily basis.

That’s from the National Border Patrol Council, the union that represents Border Patrol agents. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s still proper to say “illegal aliens” because, you know, that’s what they are.

Things are so bad that when I first read that I thought, “That seems a little low.”

House Republicans have been putting a little pressure on Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, but the guy still has a job. A big frustration of mine has always been that more Republicans don’t hammer Democrats on the border. It’s an issue that should be getting daily attention from anyone in the GOP who wants to be serious about the future of the country.

Here are some more disturbing numbers from Catherine’s post:

Border Patrol arrested a whopping 12,028 criminal illegals in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022, and the criminals keep coming. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics on criminal illegals apprehended FY2023 to date (last updated Aug. 16) is 10,810 criminal illegals. There was also a 600% spike in potential “national security risk” migrants (i.e. potential terrorists) apprehended in FY2022, a total of 25,627 individuals — hence the Border Patrol Union is warning that thousands of terrorists could be entering the U.S. illegally.

With a sympathetic president in the Oval Office, the open borders crowd has created a full-blown national security crisis. This is something that most Democrats continue to pretend isn’t happening. They don’t care if the more-than-occasional murderer makes it across the border, as long as said murderer doesn’t kill anyone in their gated neighborhoods.

Katie Pavlich writes over at Townhall about the latest potential terrorist risk:

“The FBI is investigating more than a dozen Uzbek nationals allowed into the US after they sought asylum at the southern border with Mexico earlier this year, a scramble set off when US intelligence officials found that the migrants traveled with the help of a smuggler with ties to ISIS, according to multiple US officials,” CNN reports. “While the FBI says no specific ISIS plot has been identified, officials are still working to ‘identify and assess’ all of the individuals who gained entry to the United States, according to a statement from National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson. And they are closely scrutinizing a number of the migrants as possible criminal threats, according to two US officials.”
More than 100 suspected terrorists have been arrested at the U.S. southern border since President Joe Biden took office. It is estimated two million “gotaways” have crossed into the U.S. undetected. In May, an Afghan national on the terror watch list was arrested in San Diego.

Who had “ISIS-Friendly Smuggler” in their “What Fresh Hell Can Biden Unleash Next” office pool?

In addition to the national security crisis, Joe Biden’s humanitarian border crisis continues. The administration has never had any coherent plan to deal with people who are trying to migrate here legally, either. The Biden Democrats’ failure on border policy is utterly tragic and dangerous to any innocent players involved.

This could be said about most of the important issues facing the country right now, but there is no scenario in which the Dems’ border plans work out well for the United States of America.

COVID mania just won't go away. The deadly strains of the virus have been gone for two years now, and yet the recent outbreak of a mild flu-like variant is again stoking panic on the Left.

Nearly 100 universities are requiring masks this fall.

Lionsgate movie studios in Los Angeles and Atlanta-based Morris Brown College recently stated they are reinstating not just mask mandates but social distancing measures and contact tracing.

CNN, which led the panic in 2020 and 2021 -- causing manic school, restaurant and business shutdowns and vaccine mandates -- recently put out a headline on its website that encouraged its readers not to go outside without a mask on. Really? The latest evidence finds this is less dangerous than a normal flu virus and tracking data suggest that the wave has already peaked.

What's even more disturbing here is that the leftist medical community and the media aren't renouncing their calls for mitigation strategies that were catastrophically wrong in the panic era of 2020 and 2021 -- but instead calling for more of these assaults on freedom in the future.

It is one thing for well-meaning medical experts to have disagreed about how to best combat a once-in-a-half-century deadly virus. We didn't know exactly what we were dealing with. But now we know with concrete scientific evidence that most mandates and lockdowns had a small impact on the spread of the virus and on fatalities. It turns out there was almost no difference in death rates in states with strict lockdowns and no lockdowns at all. The same is true of cross-country evidence.

Healthy children were never at risk from COVID (something we knew early on), so shutting down schools for one or two years was a sop to the teachers unions but a disaster for this generation of kids. Test scores are the worst in 30 years.

Before the pandemic, only 15% of public school students were chronically absent -- more than 18 or more days a year.

Stanford University education professor Thomas Dee's data shows an estimated 6.5 million additional students are now chronically absent. In Connecticut and Massachusetts, chronic absenteeism remains double its pre-pandemic rate.

But polls show that Democrats -- even those who are highly educated -- generally still support the lockdowns that were mandated. These are the same people who lecture about "following the science." The most comprehensive study by experts at Johns Hopkins University found death rates from lockdowns were reduced by 0.1 percent. But how many people died from the isolation of lockdowns, delayed health screening from cancer, the increase in drug overdoses?

Biden's vaccine mandates only made Americans more resistant to get pricked. They backfired.

Worst of all, Anthony Fauci, who remains a hero of the Left, recently not only refused to admit the errors of his advice but said the "lockdown was absolutely justified."

Why does this bizarre rewrite of recent history matter? Because the fearmongering Left can't wait to install new lockdowns every time we have a new flu virus and health scare. They've even started putting out feelers for occasional climate change economic shutdowns.

Those who love freedom must strenuously resist this coming tyranny.

RNC Passes Powerful 'Return to Excellence in American Voting' Resolution, Demands Election Security

The 168 members of the Republican National Committee met in Milwaukee last week, and one item the group adopted was a strongly-worded “RESOLUTION URGING A RETURN TO EXCELLENCE IN AMERICAN VOTING AND ELECTIONS,” which called for increased election security and fully auditable voting methods.

The news was tweeted out by the resolution's sponsor, Tyler Bowyer, who serves as the RNC National Committeeman from Arizona and COO of Turning Point Action (the 501(c)(4) political arm of Turning Point USA).

Here’s the full text of his tweet:

I am excited to share the official resolution “A Return to Excellence” was adopted without a single objection at this week’s RNC meeting. Very thankful to the warriors who are fighting on the front lines. This resolution makes it abundantly clear that any Republican aiding democrat election manipulation is not going to be tolerated— and the clear outline of what we do support: — Having an auditable paper trail — Supporting hand count procedures to audit votes — Applauding those who perform hand counts — Supporting precinct polling — Opposing vote centers and demanding geographically defined voting and management — Stopping drop boxes that are only placed in heavily Democrat areas — Preventing further expansion of early voting that makes Election Day tabulation more complicated and delayed — Stopping additional confusion with schemes like ranked choice voting — Requiring IDs and citizenship for voting

The resolution also appears on the RNC’s website.

The document contains eleven “whereas” statements outlining their concerns with current voting methods in the United States. Their issues include:

WHEREAS, To present a formal Resolution from the Republican National Committee for declared opposition to voting manipulation schemes and to return to the functional and historic balloting and polling experience that Americans understand, appreciate, and love;
WHEREAS, Ensuring the integrity of our voting and election administration is critical and foundational to maintaining a civil and decent society decentralized from a federal government as the Founders intended;
WHEREAS, Elections have been under assault from those on the Left as they attempt to implement schemes and intentionally inject chaotic administrative changes that have drastically changed how elections are conducted in hundreds of the most populous counties and regions across the nation;
WHEREAS, Democrats are passing non-citizen voting laws in liberal cities, which the Republican National Committee has previously resolved to oppose and ensure only United States citizens decide our elections…

The document then moves on to the “Resolved” section, where there are also 11 entries. Here’s a sample:

RESOLVED, The Republican National Committee boldly opposes means of voting that do not have the proper safeguards in place and are exclusively electronic and calls on every county and state in the nation to use as the default ballot systems, which are fully auditable, namely hand-marked, voter-verified paper ballots to ensure every voter is memorialized by a paper record;
RESOLVED, The Republican National Committee stands firmly behind voter identification laws and calls on state legislatures to pass laws to ensure every voter is verified to be the actual voter regardless of method in which they vote at the time of voting, casting, or delivering a ballot;
RESOLVED, The Republican National Committee hereby opposes any and all efforts for states to unreasonably expand time periods for early or vote-by-mail that makes ballot counting procedures intentionally unmanageable or incapable to complete expeditiously following the conclusion of an election on election day…

There are several more common-sense proposals, but perhaps the last one sums things up the best:

RESOLVED, The Republican National Committee calls for a necessary “return to excellence” or in other words, a return to the simple and proven methods of precinct, ward or geographically-defined localized voting with auditable balloting procedures using paper ballots, in fair, reasonable limited time periods, using proper identification to strengthen voter confidence and to ensure that American election procedures can be a fair and open process for all to participate.

Democrats in many states have been changing the rules over the last several years—especially during the pandemic—and have gone all in on unsecured ballot boxes, mail-in voting, extended voting periods, ballot harvesting, and more.

Not surprisingly, therefore, Americans’ confidence in election integrity is on the decline, according to a 2022 CNN poll, while Gallup reported in November of that same year that there was a growing “deep partisan divide” about the security of our systems. “Republicans' confidence in voting integrity dropped to a new low of 44%, while Democrats' confidence remained high, slightly higher (76%) than in the previous election year,” they wrote.

In other words, Republicans feel like the game is rigged.

Hopefully, efforts like this one from the RNC will lead to results at the polling booth because it’s clear that a huge number of people simply don’t trust our elections anymore—especially after all the Democrat shenanigans during the COVID-plagued presidential election of 2020. In the meantime, as voting advocate Scott Presler has advocated on the pages of RedState, Republicans must also master the voting system as it is—not just how we wish it was.

I applaud the RNC’s resolution, but we must continue to fight a two-pronged battle until we restore sanity to our electoral process.

California legislator says outing policy has everything to do with a Christian nationalist movement

This editor says it all the time, but he caught the moment that the Left decided it had to turn the "parents' rights movement" into a negative thing, like Bud Light. Now the SPLC is telling us parents' rights groups like Moms for Liberty are extremist groups with roots in white supremacy. Removing sexually explicit material from the school library is "book banning." And if your parents don't "affirm" your new gender, your teacher will, and make sure Mom and Dad don't find out.

This editor says this all the time, too: Don't be convinced a 14-year-old needs a double mastectomy as soon as possible or she'll commit suicide.

I remember Eric Holder being caught on video stating, "When they go low, we kick them." Of course, that came after the infamous Barack Obama statement in 2010: "We're gonna punish our political enemies." Who can ever forget now-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) asserting from the steps of the US Supreme Court that Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh had " . . . [R]eleased the whirlwind, and you will pay the price." He even went so far as to state that they would not know what hit them. We know that the leftists violated the US Code and law and protested conservative SCOTUS justices outside their homes, and there was an assassination threat against Justice Kavanaugh. Whatever happened to Rep. Maxine Waters and her blatant call for violence against Trump administration officials just for being Trump administration officials, calling leftists to get in their faces and confront them everywhere?

Does anyone remember the leftist Bernie Sanders supporter who picked up and drove from Illinois to the DC area and attempted to assassinate GOP members of the Congressional baseball team at practice? There is not too much talk from the left about gun control after that attempted political assassination. Just recently, parents took to the streets in Los Angeles to protest the ideological agenda and policies of the California leftist legislature to force child gender mutilation surgeries and protocols upon their children without their consent or knowledge. They were met by members of the domestic terrorist group called Antifa, and surprisingly, the LA Police Department did what Portland and Seattle did not do by arresting Antifa members.

How interesting that a leftist organization called the Southern Poverty Law Center -- which had an employee arrested at an Antifa assault on law enforcement in Atlanta -- would designate an organization called Moms for Liberty as a hate group.

I am very sure that as you read this missive, you can name countless other instances of the progressive socialist left willfully and intentionally targeting their political opposition with threats, intimidation, fear, coercion, and, yes, violence. In the face of this totalitarian and tyrannical political violence, it is time for Republicans to find the courage to develop a political killer instinct.

Now, you can bet your bottom dollar that leftists will read this and take umbrage. They will respond with unrighteous indignation, believing that my words mean I am calling for retribution. That is not the case.

What I am establishing is a need for the GOP to use the rule of law to defeat the leftists and thwart their efforts. Where we have an out-of-control, Soros-backed District Attorney focusing more on political opponents than keeping criminals off the streets in red states. Republican governors should be removing these individuals from office. Instead of sitting back and watching the left overrun our country with illegal immigrants, a lot of single military-age males, Republican governors should be enforcing the law and repatriating these individuals back south of our border and undermining the reign of the terrorist Mexican drug cartels.

Consider that absurd declaration of Illinois Democrat Governor Pritzker, who wants to make illegal immigrants law enforcement officers. Every law-abiding constitutionally-minded sheriff in Illinois should speak out against this and declare that they will arrest any illegal immigrant masquerading as a law enforcement officer.

Why do we not hear more Republican governors and elected officials asserting constitutional nullification? In other words, sending a message to the Biden administration that his ideologically driven executive orders will not be followed if they are not consistent with the enumerated constitutional powers granted? I mean, you hear about the left wanting a “state of emergency” around climate change. Or how about this insanity in Montana, where young people sued on the grounds that they were being “adversely affected” by climate change? Now we are witnessing the return of mask and shot mandates.

The stakes are very high for the future of our Constitutional Republic, and we can ill afford to wage this ideological conflagration from the position of being on defense and reacting. It has to be very apparent to every American that the progressive socialist left does not believe they should abide by the Constitution. Heck, I find it abjectly humorous that the left always invokes the 14th Amendment when it was the same Democrat Party that voted against the 14th Amendment, proposed by Republicans, to give citizenship to former slaves. Oh, by the way, the Democrat Party did not support the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery. The Republican Party was founded in 1854 with the sole purpose of ending slavery.

Last week, we had the first GOP presidential primary debate, and Donald Trump had a mugshot. Okay, it is time to move on. Who will be the one with the courage, competence, conviction, and character to go on full assault against the progressive socialist left? Who will call them out every day? Who will be the one who will stop acquiescing to the intimidation tactics of the left? Having a killer instinct does not mean killing anyone. It means you have the will, desire, and determination to stand and fight to defeat your adversary.

Here is an example of having a political killer instinct: The left believes they can keep Republicans on the defense on the issue of murdering unborn babies in the womb. First, let's stop using their language, “women's reproductive rights” and “pro-choice,” because the bottom line is that the leftists are the extremists who wish to use murder in the womb as a means of birth control and are advocating infanticide. As well, the position of the left aligns with that of the Satanic Temple of America.

Genocide? Look no further than the goals of Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, and the deaths of over 20 million black babies in the womb since 1973.

Leftists want to expose our children to male perverts dressed as women who expose themselves sexually. Why not just expose our children to pornography? Oops, sorry, that is what they are doing with certain books and curricula. All the while, our children are falling behind in reading and math.

The leftists do not want us to Live Free; they want us to succumb, submit, and subjugate ourselves. They want our children, our stoves, our cars, our dishwashers, our businesses. They believe themselves to be above the rule of law, hence why they could challenge an election outcome, create alternate electors, deny losing an election, and seek to alter the results of an election, and it is just fine. But if Republicans do so, then they will enact every leverage of power and domination to destroy those who would dare do so.

There are two books every Republican and conservative should read before the end of this year: Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and Sun Tzu's "The Art of War." Republicans are being consistently outmaneuvered from a strategic political perspective, and that must end. It can only end if you understand the leftists and what drives them. Then, develop the political killer instinct to defeat them, deny them their objectives, and go on offense against their delusions and derangement.
