Democrats have never stopped politicizing Benghazi

Democrats have never stopped politicizing Benghazi

What on earth does Donald Trump have to do with the murder of four American officials in the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the US compound in Benghazi, Libya?
Well, to Democrats on the House select committee investigating the fiasco, Trump is a central figure. Their 339-page minority report mentions the presumptive Republican presidential nominee no less than 36 times.
That’s more than it mentions Benghazi victims Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty — combined.

So much for a report that accuses Republicans of “politicizing” the loss of four brave Americans.
Meanwhile, the Democratic report mentions Hillary Clinton (on whose watch as secretary of state the attack took place) 334 times — nearly double her mentions in the Republican report, which actually focused on missteps across the administration.
The Democratic report, in short, is a nakedly political effort not to analyze what happened in Benghazi but simply to exonerate their nominee of any and all wrongdoing.
They’d have done better to save the taxpayers money and submitted a one-sentence report: “What difference does it make?”
Fact is, Democrats started pushing political lies about Benghazi from the start.
It was the administration’s “brain trust” that created the idea that this was no carefully planned terror attack but rather a spontaneous reaction to an internet video.
It wasn’t anyone from State or the intelligence community who briefed then-Ambassador Susan Rice before she went out to pitch that line on every Sunday show — it was top Obama political hand David Plouffe.
Now the House Democrats insist their sole focus has been “improving the security of Americans serving abroad.” But you can’t do that without honestly evaluating what went so horribly wrong in Benghazi.
Which is precisely what the Republicans did — and why Democrats, from the White House on down, continually stonewalled the investigation.
The majority report paints a devastating picture of an administration — including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — that failed miserably to protect Americans from top to bottom.
The evidence calls into question her judgment and her ability to serve as commander-in-chief.
If that’s “political,” so be it.
