Abolish the FBI: You heard it here first.

HOWIE CARR: Abolish the FBI: You heard it here first.

I saw a headline this week in The Wall Street Journal that made my day: “Abolish the FBI.”

The reason I was so pleased was because above my column in this newspaper on Jan. 24, 2018, was this headline: “Scandal-ridden FBI must be abolished.”

Is there an echo in here?

All I can say is, what took everybody else so long to realize how rotten to the core the Famous But Incompetent G-men have become, and actually have been for more than half a century now?

As the Journal noted, the FBI’s last sustained good “run of publicity … came more than 50 years ago thanks to Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and his weekly show on ABC, “The FBI,” which went off the air in 1974.

Even by dismal modern FBI standards, though, the news just keeps getting worse and worse.

Last week, one of Hillary Clinton’s lawyers was indicted by Russian collusion hoax Special Counsel John Durham. The Democrat operative was charged with lying to a James Comey briefer about one of the largely forgotten lies in the Russian hoax — Alfa Bank’s “secret servers,” which of course didn’t exist except in the fevered imaginations of far-left Democrats and their stenographers in the media.

Durham has been taking his own sweet time bringing these corrupt Deep State bad actors to justice, but better late than never. He knows a lot about how deep the corruption runs. He first brought down Whitey’s FBI hitman, Zip Connolly.

This latest indictment came only days before the five-year statute of limitations ran out.

Five years! It took that long to bring a single one of these bent Democrats before the bar of justice. But then, in this case, as in so many others involving the FBI, the cops are the actual criminals.

The joke in this latest bust is that obviously the FBI knew that Hillary’s lawyer was lying when he told the agent that he was peddling his ludicrously false stories.

Maybe not, though. They’re not making special agents like Inspector Lew Erskine anymore.

Durham’s indictment happened the same week that a newly declassified court rulings showed that the FBI had 100% lied during its illegal investigation into Trump aide Carter Page.

In the FBI’s botched frame-up of Page, one FBI lawyer has already been convicted of obstructing justice, although his punishment scarcely rose to the level of a slap on the wrist.

Accountability is for the little people. The bigshots, and their henchmen, get off light, when they suffer any consequences at all.

DOES CHINA RULE THE WORLD?

DOES CHINA RULE THE WORLD?

BY JOHN HINDERAKER

Chinese Communist Party leaders believe that their country will soon dominate the world. I don’t know: maybe it already does. I am not sure when or how we decided to have China do our manufacturing for us, but the implications of that decision–if in fact it was ever consciously made–continue to unfold.

China’s utter dominance in metals production is documented here.

According to The Visual Capitalist, global steel production has more than tripled over the past 50 years despite the fact that nations like the U.S. and Russia have seen declining domestic production and a rising reliance upon imports.

The most stunning aspect of the chart is China’s absolute dominance in the industry. China now produces about half of all of the steel in the world.

China has similar dominance in processing other metals. According to the International Energy Agency, China processes 40 percent of the global copper supply, more than 50 percent of the global lithium supply, and more than 80 percent of rare earth metals.

One of the many reasons why transitioning to “green” energy is almost unfathomably stupid is that it would put America’s entire energy system at the mercy of the Chinese Communist Party. (They make our wind turbines and solar panels, too. They dominate solar panel production in part because they save on costs by using slave labor.) But maybe our economy is pretty much in China’s hands already.

Congress' 'Shutdown Theater' Ready for Boffo Opening

Congress' 'Shutdown Theater' Ready for Boffo Opening

AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite

It’s not quite Oklahoma! or Hamilton, but sometime next week, the curtain is expected to go up on Congress’ “Shutdown Theater” in what is sure to be an opening night to remember.

“Shutdown Theater” should not be confused with “Debt Ceiling Drama,” although both are expected to have strong openings and wide audience disgust as the nation’s actors playing lawmakers will posture and preen in front of the cameras seeking some kind of political advantage.

Why can’t they just call for world peace or an end to racism like other clueless, brain-dead actors?

New York Times:

The federal government could run out of cash and start missing payments on things as diverse as Social Security and military pay sometime between Oct. 15 and Nov. 4, according to a new analysis from the Bipartisan Policy Center.

That analysis, released on Friday as Congress is debating whether to lift America’s borrowing cap, showed a narrower window during which the United States could default on its debt if the limit on what the United States can borrow is not raised.

What makes this a theatrical exercise and not a real-world possibility is that no one is this stupid. No one is dumb enough to actually allow the United States to “default” on its financial obligations to other nations that have been financing our budget deficit for half a century or more.

Right?

Republicans and Democrats in Congress have shown no signs of progress at breaking a stalemate over raising or suspending the debt limit — which restricts the government’s ability to borrow money to pay its bills. The congressional dysfunction leaves the United States potentially less than a month away from what economists warn would be a catastrophic economic shock.

“New data demonstrate that Congress has only weeks to address the debt limit,” Shai Akabas, director of economic policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center, said in a statement. “If they don’t, the U.S. government risks missing or delaying critical bills that will come due in mid-October that millions of Americans rely on, from military paychecks and retirement benefits to advanced child tax credit payments.”

The way the plot has always gone is that Congress has taken the drama to its absolute limit, refusing to raise the debt ceiling until the hero is at death’s door, the fair maiden is in the clutches of the evil ogre, and the villain is off-camera cackling in glee that his nefarious scheme is about to succeed.

Related: Republicans’ Chances for a Senate Takeover Just Got Much Better

But then the hero makes a miraculous recovery, rescues the maiden from a fate worse than death, and foils the villain’s plot — just in time for the final commercial break and PSA reminder to get vaccinated.

Hardly Tony Award-winning material.

Republicans sound absolutely dead serious this time about refusing to vote to raise the debt limit. But then, they always sound dead serious right up until the time they’re forced to fold or watch the United States sink into penury.

It’s a tired script, entirely too formulaic and predictable. But right now, it’s what’s substituting for government in a great republic. So we can take it or leave it.

The FBI Admits to Having Informants at January 6th Protest

The FBI Admits to Having Informants at January 6th Protest

AP Photo/Andrew Harnik

Over the weekend, a judge forced federal prosecutors to release surveillance footage of the happenings on January 6th, and despite claiming the video would endanger national security, what was shown was far from an “insurrection.” Instead, unidentified men in black systematically entered and opened the doors for perplexed protesters to walk through, at which point they mingled and took pictures. The video did not show a violent rush as part of an organized attempt to overthrow the government.

It was another blow to the predominant narrative that January 6th was “worse than 9/11” and the “worst attack” on our country since the Civil War. It also illustrated how far the federal government has been willing to go to push false perceptions. Why hide that footage in the first place? And why do we not know who the men in black are, but we know who every other random grandma is who took a selfie at the Capitol that day?

For a long time, onlookers have suspected that the reason is that the FBI had agents and informants at the January 6th protest. Now, that’s been confirmed, at least in one case.

The informant in question was a member of the Proud Boys, and while it doesn’t say specifically, I’d guess it’s the same guy people have suspected all along as working for the FBI. I won’t mention his name here, because the fact-checkers would love to ding this article, but he’s an outspoken personality that just so happened to be one of the only attendees that the DOJ didn’t charge for being in the Capitol Building.

But, I think it’s a distraction to focus on this one informant. Understand, as someone who has watched many prior leaks from the government get published by The New York Times and The Washington Post, this kind of thing only gets printed if it’s an attempt to get out in front of a much bigger revelation. Remember that recent leak to The Washington Post involving John Durham indicting Michael Sussman? The Post’s write-up made it sound like Sussman was innocent. Then the actual indictment dropped and it was far, far worse.

That’s the pattern going well back into the Trump years, and that’s likely what’s happening here. The FBI needs to normalize for the public the idea that they had people participating in what happened on January 6th. That way, when we learn who the men in black are that opened the doors, or something else related to the FBI’s involvement, it seems like less of a big deal.

In short, you can bet this doesn’t end here. Stay tuned.

Donald J. Trump On Arizona Audit Report, Media

Donald J. Trump On Arizona Audit Report, Media

By: Donald J. Trump

The Fake News is lying about the Arizona audit report! The leaked report conclusively shows there were enough fraudulent votes, mystery votes, and fake votes to change the outcome of the election 4 or 5 times over.

The number includes 23,344 mail-in ballots, despite the person no longer living at that address. Phantom voters!

The official canvass does not even match who voted, off by 11,592—more than the entire Presidential Election margin. Voters who voted in multiple counties totaled 10,342, and 2,382 ballots came from people who no longer lived in Maricopa County.

There were also 2,592 “more duplicate ballots than original ballots.” Just those fraudulent ballots alone total 50,252 and is fraud many more times than the so-called margin of “victory,” which was only 10,457.

In addition, election data appears to have been intentionally deleted, and ballot images were “corrupt or missing.” This is not even the whole state of Arizona, but only Maricopa County. It would only get worse!

White House whoppers

White House whoppers

Joe Biden winning the presidency may turn out very badly for the Democratic Party because success obscures problems that need fixing. If we’re winning, it’s working, the thinking goes, so there can’t be much wrong with what we’re doing.

This is delusional. Making Donald Trump a one-term president seems to have ended any real effort by Democrats to stop treating ordinary people as ignorant plebs. This is unwise if you want their votes and will probably come back and bite the party as election cycles roll on.

LetterEditor.jpg

Hillary Clinton’s 2016 comment that those who wouldn’t vote for her were “deplorables” expressed the Dems' contempt for the interests, concerns, pursuits, and intelligence of people not part of the opinion-forming elite.

The same contempt is glaringly clear in the administration’s daily denial of obvious truths, many of which are on video played on TV while Dems are spinning at full throttle. They seem to think lumpen proles can be persuaded by flat denials to disbelieve what they see with their lying eyes.

Recent falsehoods are jaw-dropping. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas testified to Congress on Sept. 22 that the southern border is “no less secure” now than under the previous administration. Simultaneously, TV viewers watched thousands of illegal aliens stream across the Rio Grande, gather in a squalid camp, then take buses into the American heartland. Even in Trump’s last month as president, after Biden invited migrants north saying, “You should come,” illegal crossings rose only to 74,000. They are now running at three times that rate — more than 200,000 a month.

Likewise, as Americans watched our humiliating exit from Afghanistan, Jen Psaki insisted that the shambolic rout could not be described as “anything but a success.” And the administration was anyway juicing the numbers by taking people from Kabul‘s streets who had nothing to do with America’s war effort. Its policy amounted to “never mind who we fly out, just get as many as possible.” Active allies, U.S. citizens, and green card holders were left behind.

Want more examples? Very well then.

When asked on Sept. 14 by Sen. James Risch, an Idaho Republican, about White House staff cutting off President Gaffe’s microphone to prevent him from being heard, an incident widely reported and seen by millions, Secretary of State Antony Blinken testified that it was not so. Risch countered incredulously, “Are you telling this committee this does not happen?” Blinken answered, “That is correct.” At which point one is left mouthing silently like a goldfish, for there is not much one can say.

Finally, as Daniel Henninger noted in the Wall Street Journal, Biden himself recently argued that up was down and black was white; in his speech about his megatrillion-dollar spending plan, he averred, “I am a capitalist,” and later, “I am not a socialist.” Uh-huh.

He and his lieutenants think you’re stupid. They think you won’t notice their daily doses of BS. But it is they, not you, who have their heads where the sun don’t shine.

Reporter Discovers 'Thousands' in Kabul Still Attempting to Flee, Including US Citizens and Green Card Holders

Reporter Discovers 'Thousands' in Kabul Still Attempting to Flee, Including US Citizens and Green Card Holders

Thousands of people are still seeking to flee Afghanistan, including Americans, more than three weeks after the Biden administration pulled U.S. military forces from the Taliban-controlled nation.

“Thousands of people are still trying to flee Taliban-controlled Afghanistan,” Fox News foreign correspondent Trey Yings wrote in a Twitter post on Thursday.

“U.S. Green Card holders. People who live and pay taxes in the United States are trapped.

“We met a man today who runs two businesses in Atlanta. He’s stuck with his family right now in Kabul,” he added.

“We also talked to a group of former U.S. embassy workers,” Yingst added in another tweet.

“They are still in Kabul, despite promises they would be evacuated,” he added.

Especially concerning was Yingst’s report that U.S. citizens remain trapped in the country.

“There are still U.S. citizens here as well. The daughter of that man from Atlanta has a U.S. passport,” Yingst tweeted.

“We’ve met multiple American passport holders still in Kabul. Some made it out on Qatari flights, others did not,” he said.

Yingst’s latest video featured one man with a green card seeking help to escape Afghanistan.

The report follows news last week of an elderly California couple who is returning home after being trapped in Afghanistan for weeks following the U.S. military’s departure from the country, according to California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa.

“This is a cause for celebration and the result of almost countless hours of work under very difficult conditions,” Issa said in a statement.

“Our team simply would not give up, and today it paid off and we got them home.”

The names of the couple are reportedly being withheld at the family’s request due to fear of violence toward relatives who remain in Afghanistan.

Issa’s office said it has helped 33 Americans and holders of American visas to escape Afghanistan.

“While we have made extraordinary progress, but we’re not stopping until everyone comes home,” Issa said.

JOE BIDEN’S FREE BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER

JOE BIDEN’S FREE BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER

BY JOHN HINDERAKER IN BIDEN ADMINISTRATIONDEBTECONOMYFEDERAL BUDGET

Joe Biden has made the absurd claim that his $3.5 trillion socialist boondoggle is free:

The idea that a $3.5 trillion (or whatever the true price tag turns out to be) boondoggle “costs zero dollars” is ridiculous. It costs $3.5 trillion, and the cost has to be paid for through a combination of increased taxes and increased debt, to be serviced by future taxpayers. In neither case is the spending “free.”

In fact, the taxes the administration proposes won’t pay for the boondoggle, and it will, if passed, increase the national debt substantially. But more insidious is the idea that if the increased taxes are levied on corporations and high-income taxpayers, the money is somehow free. Economists have studied the question of who pays corporate income taxes. The answer is, a combination of the company’s customers in the form of higher prices, its employees, in the form of lower wages, and shareholders, in the form of lower returns. This is not “free money.” And when you tax high-income taxpayers more, they invest less, with consequences that hurt all of us.

I see the Biden administration’s “costless $3.5 trillion” insanity as a manifestation of the credibility that the Democratic Party is now giving to Modern Monetary Theory–or, as some say, Magic Money Tree–which has been thoroughly discredited.

The Biden administration: lying with impunity

The Biden administration: lying with impunity

What does it mean to lie with impunity? It means to lie with no bad consequences, with “freedom from punishment, harm, or loss.”

Commenter “physicsguy” writes of the Biden administration, the Democrats, and the left as a whole:

It is rather amazing to take an objective view and watch what is happening: Install a puppet as president through massive voting fraud. Then use the puppet as a means to initiate all the programs. The puppet can also distract from the real agenda by the comical bumbling that the puppet displays. Blatantly lie about everything, and keep repeating all the lies; no need to worry as the MSM is in their corner. An example: Raggedy Ann saying no need to be concerned with the vaccination status of all those streaming across the border as most of them will not be staying in the US, all the while shipping them all off to various US cities. Such a laughable lie, but never challenged.

They really have totally won, and continue to consolidate their power.

I have noticed this same thing about the administration’s lies: they are absurd and are not meant to convince. They are meant to do a number of other things, and the collusion of the MSM is the key to making it work. If the majority of our “journalists” were doing their jobs correctly, it would not be difficult at all for them to successful point out the lies and disseminate that information t the public. But they see their task as propping up the left and also keeping their jobs.

So what are the lies for, if not to persuade? They are meant to give the already-convinced – the Democratic rank-and-file voter – their ready-made excuses for not paying attention to whatever objections the right may make or point out. The Democratic voter can shrug off any concerns they themselves may have, too, in a shallow and facile way. They also give the many pundits on the left their talking points, and if the talking heads on TV and the columnists hammer them home enough, the repetition makes the lies sound more like truths. After all, if all these smart people agree, who is the listener to differ?

Lastly, these lies have a function that is similar to what was going on with the Soviets – the lie as mockery and insult and sadistic tease. In that regard, obvious lying is a feature, not a bug, and it helps that the lie is absurd. It’s a show of power meant for the opposition to view, a way to say, “we can state any stupidity we want as truth, things both you and I know are ridiculous, and will we say it with a straight face to illustrate the extent of our power over you. We don’t have to pretend to make sense. We’re in control and you’re not. We are laughing at you.”

That’s the point we have reached.

Let me add that not only was Psaki’s statement absurd because obviously most of the illegal aliens streaming across the border will be staying indefinitely, but also because even if they were to stay only a few weeks or so, if infected with COVID they could pass it on in short order. So her statement was absurd on several levels.

Don's Tuesday Column

THE WAY I SEE IT   by Don Polson Red Bluff Daily News   9/28/2021

Would you believe…lies, all lies?

One person’s truth and lies may simply be the reverse of someone else’s, but the very concept that there is no objective truth is itself a convenient falsehood. My first college philosophy class book, “Situation Ethics: The New Morality” (by Joseph Fletcher), was a late 60s version of the “truth is what you make it” philosophy, undermining concepts of right and wrong.

Look up “Serpentine Logic,” by Jim Erwin (Oct. 2, 2014, patheos.com) or just consider the role of lies both subtle and bold in the undermining of social harmony, civic order, political sincerity and trust, and religious faith and fulfillment.

A towering historical abolitionist, Frederick Douglas: “Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have the exact measure of the injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them.”

We must acknowledge the diabolical role of lies by those who know they are lying. Likewise, the way falsehoods become the mental, ideological and policy currency in the minds of those—without any real malice or sense of being grossly misled—who simply rely on the veracity of liars.

Examples: It should have been obvious to anyone with observation or familiarity with equestrian practices that there were no “whipping” or “strapping” or other abuses of illegal Haitian migrants by horse-mounted Border Patrol agents attempting to stop such border-crossers. Anyone unfamiliar with horse handling had an obligation to reach out to more knowledgeable sources before opining harshly and falsely.

Anyone who mischaracterized the normal use of reins to steer the horses, as has been done for decades of crowd control—comparing it to whipping slaves or other such abominable lies—has no shred of honesty. Even worse, such “thought leaders” in media or politics—from MSNBCNN, the networks, congress-critters, and Presidential office-holder Joe Biden and his Veep, Cacklin’ Kamala Harris—betray their positions of responsibility to the public when they so lie.

In a related class of fabulists, I.N.S. head Mayorkas boldly insisted that the border is “closed”—Who you gonna believe, him or your lying eyes? “Baghdad Bob,” anyone? Some duplicitously try to shift blame for the Southern border “invasion,” if you will, onto then-President Trump, in spite of anecdotal statements from Haitians and others that Joe Biden’s own words encouraged them to think they were welcome.

Slimy Lyin’ Chuck Schumer castigated Trump for stemming illegal immigration because our economy now lacks those immigrant workers. Is Schumer intentionally ignoring the millions of former workers induced by government largesse and pandemic business shutdowns to rely on “money for nothin’ and the rents are free” (apologies to Dire Straits)?

What kind of falsehood is it for Biden, his mouthpieces and media toadies to quietly ignore the thousands of American Legal Permanent Residents (“green card holders,” citizens but for naturalization); hundreds of actual American citizens and countless allies, interpreters and S.I.V.s in Afghanistan? Look up “Reporter Discovers 'Thousands' in Kabul Still Attempting to Flee, Including U.S. Citizens and Green Card Holders,” by Dillon Burroughs (westernjournal.com). Listen to “Blood on my (Biden’s) hands” by John Ondrasik (5 for fighting).

Set aside the pro or con on that war, it is to America’s credit that 20 years there produced successful human, and women’s, rights advances which could have been maintained without losing American lives.

The political analysis (realclearpolitics.com): “President Biden’s supporters are hewing to one message since the disastrous Afghan exit: ‘Voters won’t remember it.’ That analysis—or hope, really—could well be wrong because the evacuation left Biden with so many problems. None are going away soon. The most consequential is that many independent voters are deciding that Joe Biden is simply incompetent.”

Biden sits at the head of an advanced class on hypocrisy: He might owe around $500,000 in taxes, reports the New York Post, based on a Congressional Research Service draft report. $13 million of his and Jill’s income was routed through an S corporation. No 3.8 % Medicare tax paid. Fair share? Or evasion?

“White House Whoppers” (by Hugo Gurdon, 9/23), mentions Hillary Clinton’s cynical dismissal of “deplorables” that wouldn’t vote for her. “The same contempt is glaringly clear in the administration’s daily denial of obvious truths, many of which are on video played on TV while Dems are spinning at full throttle. They seem to think lumpen proles can be persuaded by flat denials to disbelieve what they see with their lying eyes.”

“What does it mean to lie ‘with impunity’? It means to lie with no bad consequences, with ‘freedom from punishment, harm, or loss.’” The lies from Biden et al are blatant, almost absurd, and not meant to convince. They are meant to give the already-convinced Democrat voters ready-made excuses for not paying attention to arguments and objections from those on the right; as well as allay their concerns in shallow ways.

Moreover, the lies provide pundits, talking heads and columnists on the left, talking points; these they hammer home, in the “bubble chamber” tactic of flooding the informational battle space with their consistent, though horribly false, narratives. (thenewneo.com) It’s the “1984” thought control process: “The man” holds up four fingers, and browbeats and punishes “Winston Smith” until he agrees that he is seeing five fingers, not four.

Trump supporters will accept that a hand recount (part of the Arizona election audit) found a difference of some hundred or so votes to Biden’s benefit in Maricopa County’s 2.1 million ballots—if the Trump haters will accept that Biden’s roughly 10,500 vote margin included 53,305 possibly fraudulent ballots whose votes cannot be ascertained. If those ballots heavily favored Biden, Trump won Arizona.
