HAS HAMAS (AND BIDEN) CHECKMATED ISRAEL?

HAS HAMAS (AND BIDEN) CHECKMATED ISRAEL?

BY STEVEN HAYWARD IN GAZAHAMASISRAEL

Very discouraging news out of Israel today that the IDF is pulling its forces out of southern Gaza, supposedly to “rest, regroup, and re-supply” after four months of hard fighting. Let us hope this is true, but one can’t help but suspect that this move may be in response to demands from the Biden Administration that will inevitably lead to a permanent cease-fire which will amount to a Hamas victory, because Hamas will have survived a hard Israeli punch but will now have time and room to rebuild. (Axios is now reporting that Biden delivered an ultimatum to Netanyahu.)

Cast your mind back a moment to our calamitous and shambolic withdrawal from Afghanistan three years ago, when, after a suicide bomber killed 11 U.S. servicemen, the U.S. retaliated with a drone strike that killed an innocent Afghan family that had no involvement with the bombing. How did the U.S. make this mistake? I don’t think the Pentagon’s after-action review of the Afghan withdrawal ever explained it, but it was obviously an intelligence failure of the first order. My first suspicion was that our intelligence apparatus was deliberately fed false information so we’d target innocent people, and throw our entire effort into further chaos.

When I heard the news of the IDF strike that killed seven aid workers from World Central Kitchen, my first instinct was that the aid workers were set up by Hamas through false or deceptive intelligence sent to the Israelis. We know Hamas uses civilians as human shields and welcomes civilian casualties as a means of propaganda, and foreign civilian casualties are the best propaganda of all. Maybe an Israeli officer was hasty and had a twitchy trigger, but I doubt it. In any case, it gave the feckless and craven Biden Administration the excuse it needed to break with Israel (as I predicted it eventually would), in the biggest betrayal of an ally since Munich in 1938.

There has been no open evidence for this hypothesis, and Israel can’t make this claim without looking foolish, incompetent, or revealing intelligence “methods and sources.” Even if they did, it would only stoke international outrage.

You know the “mainstream” news media won’t investigate or report this possibility, so we have to look to Breitbart:

Report: Hamas May Have Baited IDF Into Striking WCK Convoy in Error

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) called the World Central Kitchen (WCK) after seeing a gunman mount one of its vehicles and fire into the air on Monday evening, but WCK could not reach its employees, according to a report.

That would suggest that Hamas might have tried to ensure that the IDF misidentified the WCK convoy as terrorists — a tactic consistent with Hamas’s use of civilian deaths to generate global pressure on Israel to stop the war in Gaza.

The Jerusalem Post reported that late Monday evening, before the WCK convoy reached a hangar, an IDF drone unit reported seeing a Hamas gunman climb the lead vehicle and fire into the air — a signal used by Hamas terrorists.

I’ll give David Marcus the last word for now, in “It’s time for Israel to finish off Hamas“:

Across the ocean in Washington, both President Joe Biden and his rival, former President Donald Trump are urging Israel to act quickly, but in two very different and telling ways.

A feckless Biden, bowing to the far left of his party, is pressuring Netanyahu to end the conflict, with or without, it seems, the release of all the hostages or the total defeat of Hamas. Thankfully, some Democrats, such as New York Rep. Ritchie Torres and Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, are resisting these cowardly calls.

Meanwhile, Trump had a different message to Israel, telling radio host Hugh Hewitt this week, “They’re losing the PR war. They’re losing it big. But they’ve got to finish what they started, and they’ve got to finish it fast.”

In this case, finishing what they started can mean only one thing: finishing Hamas.
