Don's Tuesday Column

THE WAY I SEE IT   by Don Polson   Red Bluff Daily News   12/14/2021

“Show me the man, I’ll show you the crime”

First, readers of any political stripe are encouraged to reject fear and anxiety over planned Christmas and Holiday gatherings. Treat them as you would any seasonal event and put COVID concerns aside; those with symptoms of illness should excuse themselves as usual, while everyone else focuses on joy, hope, celebration of the birth of Jesus, or Santa’s magnanimity, or the simple warmth and love of those you hold dear.

Now is the time to replace fear of the Wuhan Flu (even Fauci, the Grinch gnome, referred to the “Wuhan strain”) with a solemn-but-joyous Christmas message of hope eternal. Those haranguing us about masks, vaccines and distancing—those in the political, governmental, news media, even scientific circles—ignore it all when it comes to their own lives. For a year-and-a-half, they’ve ignored their own rules, while pronouncing mandates, restrictions, shutdowns, enforcement, fines, even jail—internment camps in Australia.

Their parties, dining, travel, galas and hobnobbing are exempted from the restrictions forced on the “little people,” the “proles” (proletarians). British P.M. Johnson was condemned for a splendid Christmas party at 10 Downing Street—last year—while the U.K.’s Christmas was officially “cancelled.”

Judging by the elites’ dismissive attitudes over COVID, there is no pandemic, no crisis, no need for life-altering, inconvenient or special habits beyond normal sanitation. It’s little more than the flu, a cold that, in rare cases for the very unhealthy and elderly, can kill; but the rest of us should live, worship and party normally.

Gather with those you love, or a New Year’s crowd. America is back to little more than 1 out of 1,000 COVID infections being “serious or critical” (worldometers.info/coronavirus/). Deaths in California have been flat-to-declining for 2 months; testing has grossly exaggerated how many are sick. Live, celebrate, enjoy.

On the Biden DOJ’s redistricting lawsuit against Texas, alleging…what, exactly? Supposedly, every Black or Brown voter votes Democrat (cynical, untrue); so, the fact that there are more Republican districts in a Republican state means (cue screams) “racial injustice.” Democrat presidential candidates get 40 percent of Texans’ votes; Democrats have 13 out of 36 seats in the House, about 36 percent.

Biden’s DOJ is unconcerned with California’s 53 House seats; only 11 are Republican, or 20 percent. About one-third of CA’s votes have gone to the Republican every 4 years; that would mean 17 Republican seats but it’s one-party rule. Democrats used indirect, back-door tactics to get the so-called “citizen redistricting” body to do Democrat’s bidding, anyway.

Biden’s home state of Maryland also votes about one-third Republican but their one-party Democrat redistricting created one Republican district—the Dems now want all 8 seats. “Maryland…one of the most gerrymandered states in the country” (Wikipedia). To Biden’s DOJ—no problem.

The oft-cited title has also been “Bring me the man, I’ll find you the crime.” Attributed to Lavrentiy Beria, “the most ruthless and longest-serving secret police chief in Joseph Stalin’s reign of terror in Russia and Eastern Europe, [he] bragged that he could prove criminal conduct on anyone, even the innocent.” (oxfordeagle.com, 05/2018). Executed by Nikita Khrushchev, for “treason,” he probably died by his own words.

Beria’s adage began operation when Hillary Clinton seized upon an until-then novel strategy to deflect from her likely criminal use of a private server in her home. She engaged in massive email communication of material subject to government secrecy and national security protocols, violating laws in plain sight and awareness of many in the Obama circle.

The “man first, crime next” charge was hatched, we now know, “out of whole cloth” and directed—by DNC money and law firm Perkins Coie—at presidential nominee, Donald J. Trump. The timing of inception may be “who knew what and when”: Clinton’s campaign, Obama’s inner circle (including Veep Joe Biden, documented to have been in meetings discussing the heinous plot and made-up accusations), and the “principles” at DOJ and FBI.

Some in that limited circle—a true cabal—may have relied upon people like Brennan, Clapper, Rogers and Comey, and the bold, self-righteous claims by Democrat Adam Schiff, head of the House Intelligence Committee. Together with the P.R. arm of the Democrat Party—the news media—the American people were fed years of propaganda essentially calling Trump a Russian plant, a Putin stooge.

Those lies undermined Trump’s approval polling, his stature among some Republicans, and his ability to run the executive branch and attract help. They created an image, plus baseless impeachments, leading many Americans to think there was “fire” under all that “smoke,” and to vote against his reelection. How do falsely-accused Gen. Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page and others get their reputations back?

We on the right were aware of the discrepancies, contradictions and fallacies of the scurrilous accusations. Everyone wailing about “Trump’s lies” for 4 ½ years now sheepishly turn their gaze from the Greatest-Of-All-Time Hoaxes ever injected into American politics and elections. Many prominent Democrats have histories of meetings or dinners with Soviet, or Chinese Communist players or officials; Diane Feinstein’s chauffeur and Eric Swalwell’s lover were spies. Democrats boldly accuse others of their own perfidies.

Ultimately, the revelations in the “Steele Dossier”—upon which the Comey/Mueller/Schiff legal and impeachment jihad relied—were knowingly, blatantly, shamefully and criminally fabricated from sketchy sources who now deny they ever provided reliable information to the dossier’s author. Self-assured pronouncements from the above anti-Trump parties evaporated under oath; they denied what they told network, cable hosts and Americans for years.

Walk away and preserve your dignity and intellectual integrity.
