No new taxes? Not on middle class? No longer!

Maybe you missed it from last Sunday but Little Timmy Geithner will no longer make any blanket assurance against middle class tax hikes. We on the right have been saying from the beginning that Obama's ultimate strategy was reverse Reaganism (tax cuts which prevent out-of-control spending): pass massive spending that not only prevents tax cuts, but serves the purpose of justifying TAX INCREASES in the name of fiscal responsibility:'

From ABC's This Week: "To get the economy back on track, will President Barack Obama have to break his pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans? In a “This Week” exclusive, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told me, "We’re going to have to do what’s necessary.”
Geithner was clear that he believes a key component of economic recovery is deficit reduction.
"When I gave him several opportunities to rule out a middle class tax hike, he wouldn’t do it.
“We have to bring these deficits down very dramatically,” Geithner told me. “And that’s going to require some very hard choices.”

“We will not get this economy back on track, recovery will be not strong and sustained, unless we convince the American people that we are going to have the will to bring these deficits down once recovery is firmly established,” he said."

The AP reports: "Geithner and Summers both sidestepped questions on Obama's intentions about taxes. Geithner said the White House was not ready to rule out a tax hike to reduce the federal deficit; Summers said Obama's proposed health care overhaul needs funding from somewhere.

"There is a lot that can happen over time," Summers said, adding that the administration believes "it is never a good idea to absolutely rule things out, no matter what."

And then, in typical MSN-functioning-as-p.r.-arm-of-Obama style, we have: "During his presidential campaign, Obama repeatedly pledged "you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime." But the simple reality remains that his ambitious overhaul of how Americans receive health care — promised without increasing the federal deficit — must be paid for.

GET THAT--THE STRAIGHT NEWS IS TO INFORM US THAT THE "SIMPLE REALITY REMAINS THAT" Obama-care "MUST BE PAID FOR."

Just get ready to take your medicine, taxpayers, because your betters, your overlords, are deciding what's best for you.
