Biden scandal strategy — ignore, and let liberal media run defense

Biden scandal strategy — ignore, and let liberal media run defense

‘I’m just not going to respond to that from here,” snapped White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Wednesday to a question about how the Biden family profited from a Chinese energy company.

And thus the Biden White House revealed its tactic for Joe’s re-election campaign: Ignore, and hope most of the media runs interference for them.

Heck, it worked before!

Jean-Pierre was rebuffing a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy about the Biden family members getting than a million dollars in secret payments from firms tied to the Chinese Communist Party.

Jean-Pierre declared, “It’s been lies and lies and inaccuracy for the past couple years. And I’m just not going to get into it from here.”

And the press secretary entitles herself to ignore any journalist who might ask pesky questions.

When a reporter asked Biden about the payments to his family, he brushed off the question: “That’s not true!” Biden offered no rebuttal to the March 16 report by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) detailing Bank of America cash transfers to the Bidens and associates.

What exactly wasn’t true?

But Biden doesn’t have to prove his innocence.

For much of the media, one simple word “disproves” all the allegations against Biden: Republicans.

The motives of critics matter infinitely more than any transgressions Biden committed.

At The Washington Post, columnist Philip Bump accused Comer of “live-streaming his fishing expedition.”

He derided Comer’s investigation: “It’s nearly all innuendo, a big corkboard with lots of pictures but little interconnecting string.”

Because Comer aims at “seeing the Democratic president undermined,” there is no need to respond to his evidence.

Another Washington Post article frets that “the House Freedom Caucus is vastly overrepresented” on Comer’s Oversight Committee.

So any member of Congress who’s concerned about freedom is automatically illegitimate?

A Post piece with a “witch hunt” headline agonized about the “weaponization” subcommittee’s plans “to probe ongoing Justice Department investigations.”

Did the Post fret when Democratic congressional committees made deluges of false charges against the Trump administration?

No, that was merely preventing “democracy dying in darkness” or some such balderdash.

An overheated New York Times profile this week declared Comer has “cutthroat instincts” and hails from “one of the most politically vicious counties in America.”

The Times castigates Comer as “an aggressive promoter of sinister-sounding claims about the president and his family.”

Making it “sinister sounding” apparently absolves them of actual reporting.

The same pattern occurred on the eve of the 2020 presidential election.

Most of the media were far more concerned with who gave The New York Post Hunter Biden’s laptop rather than the laptop itself.

Biden won thanks to lies about the laptop from himself, 51 former top intelligence officials and a phalanx of pundits and reporters who pretended Uncle Joe was as honorable as Jimmy Carter.

But will there soon be too many scandals for Biden’s media buddies to bury?

Rep. Comer said last week’s report deals with only “the first of at least a dozen trails of money . . . that went from China to the Biden family.”

Biden may face far greater peril from the Treasury Department’s decision last week to permit the congressional committee to examine suspicious activity reports on foreign money the Biden family received.

Biden supporters revere the government, so how are they going to vaporize those official reports?

The media don’t have to cover up Biden’s abuses forever — only until Nov. 5, 2024.

After Election Day, any foreign kickbacks the Biden family snared will be as irrelevant as Hunter Biden’s laptop was after Nov. 3, 2020.

What do you think? Post a comment.

Will the media continue to portray each Biden “That’s not true!” vow as if he were Moses muttering on Mt. Sinai?

How much longer will the media ravage their own credibility to burnish Saint Joe’s halo?
