Bannon says Democrats won't stop effort to impeach Trump

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said Sunday that Democrats won’t stop their effort to impeach President Trump
Bannon told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “from day one” has aimed to “destroy Trump” in order to take back the White House.
“This is not going to stop,” he said. “They're going to subpoena more people. They're going to leak more information. And this is why I don't mind getting John Bolton as a witness.”
The former chief strategist said the Democrats’ impeachment efforts stem from the Democratic primary process and the Iowa caucuses.
“There's no heat on any of those candidates,” he said. “There's no personalities out there that can beat the president. There's no -- the policies are so radical.”
Bannon’s comments come in the days after the GOP-led Senate voted not to include additional witnesses or documents in the impeachment trial, likely securing President Trump’s acquittal in the coming week.
But the former chief strategist says he says the Democrats will still push forward with their efforts to remove Trump as the year continues.
The Democratic-led House voted in favor of two articles of impeachment against Trump in December accusing him of withholding aid from Ukraine in an attempt to get the country to announce an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden’s family.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the head impeachment manager, did not comment on CBS's "Face The Nation" on whether the House would subpoena former national security adviser John Bolton. Democrats had been pushing to have him testify in the Senate trial.
