Why Are We Talking About Contraception When The Country’s Going Broke?

Why Are We Talking About Contraception When The Country’s Going Broke?

That’s a question I’ve been asking myself lately. I imagine others have wondered the same thing.

America’s unemployment rate is still over 8 percent, some say it’s actually much higher. We have a massive debt crisis. We have a looming energy crisis and gas prices continue to rise. The housing market is still in the toilet, an entire generation of college grads are moving into their parents’ basements because they can’t find work. America still has troops on the ground in Afghanistan and there’s a growing foreign policy crisis in Iran.

All this is happening and what do Obama and his media allies want to talk about? Contraception.
Make no mistake, this isn’t an accident. Remember Obama’s favorite word when he was running for president in 2008?

DISTRACTION.

Any time anyone raised a question about Obama’s shady past, shady friends, shady anything, he said it was just a distraction from the real issues. You’re now listening to the B side of Obama’s greatest hit. It’s called Contraception. As long as Obama/Democrats/Media can keep us all focused on this argument over contraception, we’re ignoring all of the real issues I mentioned above.

Remember how baffled you were when George Steponallofus kept hammering the GOP candidates on contraception in that debate a little while back? That was the foundation for all of this. William Jacobson of Legal Insurrection figured that out before anyone else.

Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit takes the argument to a whole new level here.

We’re being played, folks.

You might even say… bamboozled.
