NY Times Fearmongers Over 'Exodus of Lawyers,' Trump Has the Last Laugh

NY Times Fearmongers Over 'Exodus of Lawyers,' Trump Has the Last Laugh

It’s a day ending in “y,” so of course we have another Trump hit piece on Sunday from the reliable ole New York Times.

You should be worried, they write — very worried — because a whole bunch of Deep State lawyers are jumping ship at the Department of Justice, leaving the agency understaffed and unprepared. Oh no! If there’s one thing most sane Americans would vote for, it’s fewer lawyers.

Meanwhile, many long-term DOJ attorneys thoroughly debased themselves during the Joe Biden-Merrick Garland lawfare and oppression regime, and they don’t deserve to continue on. Adios.

Here’s what The Times thinks should be keeping you awake at night:

President Trump’s upheaval of the federal government has led to an exodus of more than 10,000 lawyers since the beginning of 2025, a striking loss of legal talent that has left some agencies pushing to find attorneys to carry out his agenda.

Roughly one in five lawyers who worked in the government at the end of 2024 had left by March of this year, according to a New York Times analysis of federal employment data.

The Gray Lady noted that many of the lawyers who resigned did so because they didn’t agree with Trump’s policies. This is a bad thing?

The president thinks it’s a mighty fine outcome, thank you, and he blasted the outlet on Sunday for its notoriously biased coverage:

He’s happy to say goodbye to the lunatics:

The New York Times wrote a story today entitled, “Trump Administration Sees Striking Exodus of Legal Talent,” as though that’s a bad thing, when actually, it’s very good. The people that are leaving are Radical Left Deep State Lunatics, who are destroying our Country, and Weaponizing Government. Many of them didn’t leave, but were fired! The Failing New York Times writes this, but makes it sound like it’s a terrible thing when actually, it’s just the opposite. We want people that will, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, not people that are trying to destroy our Country, that were put in by Obama and Biden and, in many cases, they shouldn’t have been representing the U.S.A. in the first place. Let them go on to “bigger, better, and brighter” things in the future — I fully support that, and wish them all well! President DONALD J. TRUMP

DOJ Sues 4 Leftist States Over Hypocritical Undercover License Plate Policies That Kneecap the Feds

Look, lawyers are allegedly people too, and we need them to write and enforce our laws, negotiate contracts, defend the accused, and so much more. In the federal government, however, what we don’t need are anti-administration zealots undermining the duly elected president’s agenda. We saw the Deep State at work throughout Trump’s first term, and we don’t need to see it again.

By the way, where are a lot of these malcontents going? You guessed it: to make lots of money fighting for leftist causes:

Instead, many of those looking for such work are flocking to the offices of Democratic state attorneys general and nonprofits that are challenging administration policies in the courts, boosting Mr. Trump’s opponents with seasoned lawyers.

Riiiight. Didn’t you just prove the point, NYT, that these people had no business working in a Trump administration? Go peddle your leftist trash elsewhere.

To all my RedState lawyer colleagues and friends, I apologize. I know that you are more than “allegedly” human. In the case of the many DOJ lawyers who are anti-Trump, however, you’re basically acting as spies and saboteurs.

Please empty your desk before you get the hell out.

Trump Pushes USPS Mail Ballot Verification Plan - Dems Immediately Threaten Lawsuits

The Trump administration is done playing defense on election integrity. On Friday, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) proposed sweeping new rules that would require states to submit voter names, addresses, and unique ballot barcodes for federal elections, giving the federal government real teeth to verify that mail ballots are going to, and coming back from, actual eligible voters.

Trump signed the underlying executive order himself.

"There's been massive cheating that's gone on."

Will Scharf, senior associate counsel to the president, laid out the problem the order is designed to fix. Bloated voter rolls and a mail voting system that, by design, offers almost no verification.

"We're going to take federal data, we're going to ensure that each state's election officials are provided with a comprehensive view of who the eligible voters in their jurisdiction actually are, allowing them to properly verify that everybody voting in their elections is legally able to vote."

He continued.

"...it orders the Postmaster General and the US Postal Service to take bold new measures to verify that ballots both being sent to people are being sent to people who are eligible to vote, and then that ballots being returned are being properly returned by eligible voters only."

The proposed rule follows that blueprint and finally adds accountability to a process that has operated largely on the honor system. States would be required to submit voter lists tied to unique barcodes on every outbound and return ballot envelope. USPS would compare ballots sent against ballots returned and flag discrepancies for further investigation, the kind of basic chain-of-custody tracking that exists for virtually every other sensitive document in America.

The rule would also require standardized Election Mail logos, envelope design reviews, and state-specific participation lists managed through a new Federal Ballot Mail Portal. Ballots that do not meet the new standards, or are not tied to a state-submitted voter list, could be rejected before they ever reach election offices.

Previously, local election offices determined voter eligibility, maintained mail-voter lists, designed ballot packets, and handed them off to USPS for delivery with essentially no federal oversight. Under the proposal, USPS would receive voter-list data from states, track ballots end-to-end, and determine whether mailings meet the new federal standards. The Postal Service goes from passive vendor to active gatekeeper, and that's exactly the point.

Leavitt: The SAVE America Act Does Not Prohibit Anyone From Voting Except Illegal Aliens

The administration isn't waiting on Congress to act. It directs USPS to build the system through the federal rulemaking process, with a 30-day public comment period before the rule can be finalized.

The general election is five months away, and some states begin mailing ballots roughly 60 days before Election Day. Cato Institute analyst Stephen Richer has questioned whether USPS can build the required infrastructure in time, a fair logistical concern, though one the administration appears ready to take head-on.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, declined Thursday to block the executive order, ruling the legal challenge premature because the policies had not yet been implemented.

Predictably, Democrats and left-wing activist groups are already lining up to fight it in court. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer reached for his usual script:

"Mail-in voting is safe and secure — period. This new rule is just another malicious attempt by the Trump administration to suppress the votes of millions and try to throw the election results."

Notice what Schumer didn't do: explain how verifying that ballots go to and come from eligible voters constitutes "suppression." The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and allied plaintiffs were equally short on specifics:

"We are confident we will prevail in the end when this illegal and completely unworkable executive order is fully adjudicated."

The White House responded:

"The entire Trump Administration will continue lawfully enacting the agenda President Trump was elected to enact — which includes the safety and security of American elections."

The USPS rule and the SAVE America Act, which would require photo ID and proof of citizenship for federal voter registration, move on separate tracks. The administration is pushing both simultaneously, and the USPS proposal advances through the rulemaking process regardless of what Congress does.

Democrats will sue. Activist groups will fundraise off it. The media will call it voter suppression. The administration is moving ahead anyway, and for the roughly 80 percent of Americans who consistently tell pollsters they support basic election security measures, that's the right call.

Judicial Watch Scrutinizes 873,000 Inactive Voter Registrations in California

Judicial Watch Scrutinizes 873,000 Inactive Voter Registrations in California

Watchdog group Judicial Watch says it has identified almost a million voter registrations in California that have been inactive for at least three federal election cycles, and argues they must be removed to ensure potential cheaters cannot use the names on faked ballots.

California is always a cesspool of government corruption and rigged elections, and with major elections including the Los Angeles mayor and the state's governor this year, it is particularly important that patriots make any effort possible to reduce election vulnerabilities. That is what Judicial Watch is looking to do by identifying and urging removal of inactive voter registrations, as the group’s president, Tom Fitton, explained.

Fitton used an image his group put together to illustrate the issue with California voter rolls and break down the numbers, which you can see if you watch the video clip below. He explained how Judicial Watch got the number of 873,092 inactive registrations on Commiefornia’s voter rolls.

Fitton said, “326,608 names have remained continuously inactive for at least three consecutive federal general elections. That means the person hasn't voted or otherwise communicated with the state or the county voting officials for … six years. At least 151,202 registrants have been enactive [sic] for four federal elections. That's over eight years.”

Related: Meet the L.A.-Paid ‘Peace Ambassador’ Who’s a Murderous Terrorist

And finally, “33,922 inactive voters have been around just hanging on the rolls for 10 plus years. You know, and you can see why we do this in the back here. Look at that quote. ‘Dirty voting rolls can mean dirty elections.’ And that's the key issue here.”

Earlier this year, California's election vulnerabilities came to national attention after a viral video showed a group paying $5 each to random individuals on the street, including homeless people, to sign fake names and addresses on ballots. You can see the crazy footage below.

Then, this month, federal prosecutors reached a deal with a "longtime voting activist in California" who admitted, "to illegally paying homeless people to sign election petitions and paying people to register to vote." And the activist has been engaging in this behavior for two decades. Yes, that's right, Brenda Lee Brown Armstrong spent 20 years taking money from "coordinators" who paid her to collect ballot registrations, bribe homeless people to sign them (sometimes providing her own address for the fakers to write down), and collect petition signatures. That's why leaving inactive voters on the rolls and sending mail-in ballots to everyone, whether requested or not, is such a dangerous move.

Never forget that, even though the major cities of California are heavily leftist, much of the state leans Republican, and even in the cities, there is more diversity of political thought than the Democrats would like. In the 2024 election, 10 California counties flipped red to vote for Donald Trump. As solidly blue as California seems to most of the country, it is not immune from the need for a little tampering to keep Democrats in full power.

Jefferson on How to Restore the Republic

Jefferson on How to Restore the Republic

Jefferson on How to Restore the Republic
AP Photo/Mark Tenally

“When once a Republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.” (Thomas Jefferson)

Mr. Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, with the agreement of his colleagues, stated the principles upon which an uncorrupt America was to be built. He was also happy with the Constitution of 1789 and defended it vociferously. “The greatest danger to American freedom is a government that ignores the Constitution.” I suspect—no, I know, based upon what he wrote—he would be disappointed with the government today. More on that subsequently.

His statement at the beginning of this article is an interesting analysis. If a Republic grows corrupt, i.e., perverts the principles upon which it is founded, then the corruptions must be removed and the founding principles be restored. Any attempts other than restoration will be useless—they will have no positive effect in bringing the republic back to what it was intended to be—or a “new evil.” Impurities from the founding ideals is an “evil”—at least for that Republic as it was intended. Changes are necessary over time, of course, and Jefferson never denied that. But if the adaptations change the founding principles, then the country is no longer what it was intended to be.

The founding principles of the United States are in the Declaration of Independence. One, natural rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, given to us by our Creator, not by government, a la Democratic Senator Tim Kane. Two, a government by the consent of the governed—i.e., the people tell the government what to do, not vice versa. And three, a limited government, governing a virtuous people—“our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people,” John Adams said. Freedom based on virtue, people freely choosing to do good and not harm others, not a freedom based on selfish promiscuity and licentiousness, which is self- and society-destructive. Any abandonment of those principles would be a “corruption” of the Republic, and the only answer, Jefferson said, is “restoring its lost principles.” That isn’t exactly what is happening in America today. The corruption in America, and its government, is wide and deep, and wholly because our politicians—and the people—have abandoned and dismissed the great principles this Republic was founded upon. It’s ugly, compared to what our Founders wanted. The Left has taken over the culture of America, and by doing so has moved the nation far, far from what our Founders intended, as stated in the Declaration and Constitution. That’s their resolve.

Of course, the news isn’t 100 percent bad. We get the occasional win (Trump), and that’s nice. The Republicans still control the Senate and House, but only because of RINOs. The Supreme Court remains largely “conservative.” These are some positives. Here is another example of a hopeful “positive,” a move towards restoration.

Ken Paxton’s victory over John Cornyn in the Texas Republican Senate primary was a delight, to say the least. But in the general election, Paxton is going to face, in one sense, a different kind of “progressive,” far-left Democrat. James Talarico is trying to cloak—hide—his radical-left views under a mask of Christianity, which is a joke, but it is something new for Democrats, and obviously is designed to deceive the naïve and get many church-going Texans to take another look at the Democratic Party, something most of them haven’t done in decades.

But Talarico is enticing and beguiling, and Paxton better be on his toes. The Democrat, who has a Master of Divinity from a theological seminary in Austin (a warning sign to me if there ever was one), has distributed “Love thy Neighbor” signs at his rallies (read: “let us murder our babies and mutilate our children”). Talarico has called Jesus a “radical feminist,” and argues that the Bible sanctions abortion (the angel Gabriel indicated to the virgin Mary that God requires human consent before creating life. Unbelievably stupid and blasphemous, but some will, no doubt, be persuaded.) “Look, progressivism is actually more ‘Christian’ than the Right. The Bible supports abortion on demand, climate change, feminism—God is non-binary, you know—etc. etc.”

His “open-minded Christianity” is further evidenced by his description of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam as “circling the same truth” as Christianity, directly contrary to Jesus’s “I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to God but by Me.” But just like the country, as a whole, has slid, morally and culturally, to the Left in recent decades, too many have allowed the culture to influence their religion rather than vice versa. Thus, religion—still important in America—becomes a deception covering and condoning secular progressivism. What this has done is saturate Christianity with increased impurities and evil, and can, has, and tragically, probably will continue to “deceive the hearts of the simple” (Romans 16:18).

Time will tell how effective Talarico will be, and how well Paxton can expose this false Christianity to the people of Texas. I don’t think Talarico’s deceptions will work, but if they do, and he gets elected, we’ll see more Democrats across the country trying it. They will still hate true Christianity and Judaism, but it will allow them to steal more votes.

My point here is that the general trend over the past few decades is a country moving away from its founding principles. Mr. Jefferson shows us the way back to true greatness—the eternal (from “Creator”), founding principles enunciated in the Declaration. But the Democrats will never go back to that, nor will Republicans, for that matter. Limited government and a virtuous Republic are dead, at least for the foreseeable future. The question thus becomes, how long before this current corruption and evil completely destroy the Republic?

We need morally unbending leaders, and there are too few of those.

Dems' Latest Reaction to Trump DC Clean-Up Explains Why Everything Was Such a Mess

Dems' Latest Reaction to Trump DC Clean-Up Explains Why Everything Was Such a Mess

AP Photo/Rahmat Gul

Democrats and liberal media seem to be constantly taking issue with anything President Donald Trump does, regardless of the merits of his actions.

But they've now truly jumped the shark with their Trump Derangement Syndrome when they're objecting to Trump cleaning up fountains and monuments around Washington, D.C.

Our sister site Townhall reported on some of the interesting reaction.

Here's the account that used to be the Kamala Harris Headquarters account, terming things like spending on the Reflecting Pool, Trump "vanity projects."

Then here was the NY Times.

There are some funny and instructive reactions there.

First, Democrats call the actions "vanity projects." What's happening here? The Trump administration is using National Park Service (NPS) fees to...wait for it... take care of NPS properties. Oh, the horror! That's one of the things for which the fees should be used. So why is this even a "story"?

Second, the fact that the Democrat account that was connected to Kamala Harris doesn't understand that explains how things have fallen into such disrepair. They didn't give a darn that the Reflecting Pool was choked with garbage or if the fountain at Columbus Circle wasn't working for years (and Joe Biden went by it for years to take the train back to Delaware). They don't give a darn that Columbus Circle was covered in graffiti. They failed to do their jobs, and they dare to grouse about Trump doing his? They should look in the mirror and feel shame, but I don't think they have the capacity for that anymore.

Third, aren't these the same folks who wasted money like it was going out of style? From pouring money out to Ukraine to fraud, when did they ever really check spending? They spent endless amounts without caring. Now we actually have an administration putting a stop to the rampant mismanagement of money. Another example of how we are so much better off that Kamala Harris lost.

Decline is a choice, and it's one that Democrats have made for years.

Trump is literally following through on fixing things, as we are about to celebrate our 250th birthday. And that's a good thing.

An Undercover Look Into the Camp the Anti-ICE Crew Set Up in Newark

An Undercover Look Into the Camp the Anti-ICE Crew Set Up in Newark

AP Photo/Andres Kudacki

As we've been reporting, there's been a major anti-ICE action that has been happening at the Delaney Hall ICE facility over the past week. Hundreds of agitators have come out and clashed with ICE agents. There have even been people I recognize coming from other states.

The ICE agents have been assaulted. One was even threatened that the agitator would kill him and his entire family.

The activists claim they're upset about the treatment of detainees in the facility. We reported on some of the problems with the claims being made about the food and hunger strikes in the facility. Indeed, if the menu is accurate, it looks like they're eating better than some Americans. Meanwhile, they also have access to a commissary where they're buying more food.

Watch: Things Are Getting Way Out of Hand With Anti-ICE Agitators in Newark

There was a lot of action at the facility on Friday night, and we will be bringing it to you.

First, there was the fascinating report from Nick Sortor, who managed to make it into the huge encampment that they had set up with everything an activist might need. Check out all of this.

Sorter estimated there were thousands of dollars' worth of stuff, even a constant supply of hot food. You can hear him commenting on the lasagna available and see all the items. They have everything from water and paper towels to even Cheezits and an eyewash station (for when they get hit with pepper spray). You also see people sitting in chairs and having something to eat.

Sortor tells the people inside he's looking for hand wipes. They tell him to check the "medical tent." Because, of course, there's one of those too. There were multiple tents.

It's also astonishing that Sortor was able to do this without being found out, since his face is becoming known for such actions, so hat tip to him as well for getting all this, and risking the danger.

The anti-ICE activity is a huge endeavor, not just to put together, but to fund. So all this raises a big question: who is behind the funding here? Which groups are connected to this action? Are the authorities looking into that and not just the folks doing the action on site? Just the one huge tent alone has to be an expensive item, and notice they even have lighting set up in that big tent as well, so they're plugged in, have a battery or generator.

Democrat politicians have been to the site to whip up angst. Meanwhile, law enforcement is being assailed every night. Democrats need to be called out for stoking this as well.
